Nine months into my Premium extended range Mach-E, I decided to reread the owner's manual to try to use more features. Since we are contemplating a road trip, navigation was one of my focal points, trying to see the scheduled stops for charging along my intended route. Whether it was coincidental with the update to 2.8.3, or the OTA recall 22S41 and 22S29, the navigation disappeared from my tiles, and trying to get it to load was fruitless. Using voice commands, "Mrs. Ford" kept telling me navigation was still loading, and to wait before trying to load again. After 24+ hours, it never came back, so first I rebooted the screen. No help. I decided to try a master reset, which brought the navigation back to life, but then resulted in a Sirius hardware failure message. That required another screen reboot...and then reloading all of my personal settings, etc.

This would be of major concern if it happened on a road trip where I would have to rely on my phone for charging locations, etc. My confidence level on the software keeps dropping with my glitchy PAAK, Sirius radio presets CONSTANTLY changing, the rear hatch occasionally opening on its own in the garage when I walk by, A/C and navigation starting on its own...I probably left some things out. Is anyone free of software glitches? Ford has reached out to me to return the car to the dealer for some of these things, but I was hoping some of the OTA updates would address some (maybe all?) of my concerns before I end up getting frustrated with my dealer not knowing the first thing about fixing these issues. Damn, I love this car so much, if only the software matched the hardware experience.

Thanks in advance for your input. This forum is both a life saver, but also sometimes scares the bejesus out of me.

Did you select your profile icon and see what is in the list of applications/links there? I am sure you tried that, so just confirming. Maybe you can take a picture of what that looks like and share it with us. We might see something that can help.

Had a similar problem with navigation this weekend while on a road trip. The centre screen locked up when I stared the car. Press any function and it just makes a beep and does nothing. Turn the car on and off....still the same. Had to do the journey navigating to my destination using a phone. Completed the trip without the center screen working. Next time I turned the car on a No Traffic Delay audio message sounded and the screen came back to life. Just another software fault on this car. Ive had two software updates now and things seem to be getting worse. Ford desperately need to get a grip.
Dealers and Ford UK don't seem to have a clue. Oh!, and it's not normal for EVs to be riddled with problems. I had a Nissan Leaf for 4 years with not a single problem. I've got an old iMEV which has had only one fault in 11 years when the 12v battery died of old age.

I don't think I found it there, but I could be mistaken. It is usually (always?) in the lower tiles on the display screen, and it was no longer there, hence trying to open navigation via voice command. Thanks for your input!

A lot of people don't seem to understand the difference between the cards (tiles) and the App Drawer. It makes perfect sense to me, but judging by the number of people that post here about their apps disappearing, it must not be as intuitive to everyone as it is to me.

Never depend on the tiles, they're just shortcuts to recently used apps. The apps permanently live in the App Drawer.

I've been "learned", but unfortunately it takes a failure on either Ford's or my part to keep getting smarter. Now, if I can only figure out how to check the oil.

I thought that might be the issue. Touch the profile icon at the center top of the screen and then you will see the list of apps available.
