I’ve been using Ford Nav for 2 1/2 years and have been happy with it until the last couple of months. I now occasionally get recommended alternate routes due to 1 - 2 hr delays on major routes (I5 in Oregon). When I check google maps, I see no delays. it takes over an hour for the erroneous data to clear. Rebooting Sync doesn’t help. I’m going to give Apple Maps a try.

I usually use the Ford Navigation due to battery issues; however, I have noticed that I've been getting some strange results recently. Ford seems to keep wanting me to get off the freeway and take local streets, even if there is nothing going on. If someone is with me, I now have them check Apple or Google maps to give me a sanity check. One time, when I was driving alone, I followed the directions, thinking that there was an accident or something, and the nav had me just get right back on the freeway. Anyone else getting this? I'm in SoCal.

One thing that I wish Ford (or Apple?) did better, though, would be some integration between Apple Maps and Ford Nav. In my old 2019 BMW X3, I had an option in Apple Maps to share the destination with the BMW Nav. This was often an easier way to find an address and start navigation instead of trying to use the car's UI. I miss that.

EDIT: Just saw @SONEWBE's comment above mine. I'm not sure if it's the same thing. I don't see major delays when I'm re-routed, but I usually see the ETA decrease if I stay on the freeway.

I use either google maps or the Ford nav. The reason for ford nav use is I have a work and personal phone. Using ford nav I can Bluetooth connect and answer or call from either phone. The ford nav works fine

I primarily used Waze. I like that it tells you where the cops are. I use the other apps to identify where I wanted to stop, and plugged it into Waze as an add-on stop.
The big problem I had with the Ford Maps was that the map didn’t come up on my car screen the same way it does on my phone. The phone app had a lot more information. I understand that using the Ford app will allow the car to condition the battery for charging. I will take the device of the person who said to switch to Ford navigation when you get close to the stop.
