Has anybody experienced where the Ford navigation system will automatically start a route for you that basically goes nowhere I've had this happen multiple times through multiple software updates nothing seems to have changed when I get in the car I turn it on and the navigation system will start going go here go there I don't even use the Ford navigation system in the car but it always wants to take me in circles around my neighborhood's happens 2 to 3 times a week in the morning when I get in the car doesn't seem to happen at night when I get in the car just in the morning it's a very weird behavior and through multiple think resets it doesn't go away and there's nothing configured in the navigation system that would show that happen if anybody has any ideas what's going on here please let me know I would appreciate it it's another day like that I'm hoping somebody has an answer for this group 1st time I posted it I brought it up to the dealer a few times of course they couldn't have the car long enough for somebody to tested enough times to actually have it happen but I would venture to say that I'm sure somebody else out there has seen this behavior.

When you're in Ford nav there is another settings button, you can turn off intelligent recommendations or something like that. It tries to guess where you're going based off history and tries to offer that route.

I don’t think that will actually start navigating that route, though. I shut off the “intelligent suggestions” 2 years ago.

Hands down one of the dumbest features anyone's tried to implement. What kind of Jesus take the wheel thing is that?

Happens to me quite a bit, and when I ask the assistant to cancel navigating she politely tells me we aren’t…

Except we are…

Cue the Twilight Zone theme

For a while mine insisted on suggesting to go to PetBoys. The last time I went there was about 6 years ago to buy replacement wipers for my old Benz, well before the MME was even sold, and in the meantime that PetBoys has been demolished and replaced by a skyscraper.

I've gotten used to ignore the suggestion.

It sometimes gets turned back on when a software update occurs. Just happened to me recently.

I think I‘ve seen that, too. But not lately.

It's good that you ignored these recommendations. Myself, I have never been to PetBoys. When I lived in PA, we sometimes went to PepBoys to visit Manny, Moe, & Jack. I guess if I went to PetBoys I visit Rosco the dog, Kitty the cat, and perhaps Sally the salamander.

This is the “navigation to nowhere bug.” Multiple threads on this. We’ve known about it for over two years.

My Ford nav system might be doing that -- that would explain why at random times after starting her mellifluous voice would tell me the expected delay even though I'm not using any navigation system at all. But the Ford nav screen is never up when this happens. This has been happening almost since I got the car last November. It seems harmless enough -- I just chuckle and go on -- I don't want a service call just for this!
