New app - no BEV remote start?

In the vehicle are, as always, the remote start temp settings. Either Last, or Auto.

When you remote start, nothing lights up in vehicle, yet it works fine. You set the time, up to 15 min, also in vehicle. You can extend ONCE. After 2 remote starts, or an extend, you have to physically start vehicle.

All of this is in the manual.

Yes, I believe the previous "Start" is this versions Fan Symbol. Does the same, just not as much info upfront.

The new Ford pass failed to turn on the AC but it showed the AC was on. These happened more than 50% of the time. If my pet was in the car, she would have been dead. It has been over 100F in TX. Hey @Ford Motor Company ! This is very dangerous. This has to be fixed ASAP!

Ford pass also did not allow to turn on the AC more than 30 minutes.

Just hung up with Ford Pass tech support. Advised they’ve purposely removed remote start from new app. Which incidentally simply appeared, no notice whatsoever!
As a long time Mache (my 2nd Mach) and disabled owner/driver, I travel with guide dog. This feature is must have for me!
Ford Pass 1st told me to delete app and reinstall. Thankfully I was smart enough not to take that step! I told her I can see screen in app (attached below) no slide to start for Mach, only gas vehicle.
She then suggested using key FOB, except she then confirmed it isn’t feature on Mach FOB. Sadly she had no reason for removal or if it will return. She alluded to a safety feature? Doesn’t make any sense if available for gas powered vehicles, right?
Sooooo only option she gave is contacting dealer to have get a remote start key FOB, usually around $100. Can Mach’s even accept that antiquated technology?
I feel like I’ve entered twilight zone and went back to the 80’s/90’s when we had to have remote start & window tinting added outside dealers from car audio storefronts.
Thoughts? Anyone else know anything?

This is very informative for all app updates. About 13 mins in my specific issue is addressed. The fan will engage preset climate settings AND run indefinitely. However, pressing fan again will turn it off.
Many thanks to everyone that helped guide me in right direction to investigate fan feature further for my specific needs! I suppose we all deserve paid jobs @ Ford Pass tech support!

I'm someone who would avoid calling Ford, Microsoft, Samsung,... like the plague.
Much prefer to tinker anyways.

I sat in the dead car that has been off for a couple of hours.
Texas heat, although not Texas hot yet, admittedly.

Hit the fan button.

Only screen that lit up was the IPC, and with only the typical alert "To Drive, Press Start Button"

But there was no mistaking the HVAC compressor kicking on and the fans wicking up. Both are louder than the drivetrain on a BEV.

Also no doubt about that being nice cold-chilled air blowing from the vents.

Pretty cool button if you asked me.
And honestly, it wasn't that long ago that vehicles that could be cooled off before you even walked up to them, and controlled by remote control with a handheld device, all without burning a drop of fuel, would have been considered Science Fiction.

We are a difficult species to impress anymore. ?

You mean manual built into Mache? I don’t have a manual to review at my leisure…I must sit in car. That doesn’t work for me.
I never did any of those things you’re mentioning previously. I simply remote started from app and my preset climate ran as if I’d pressed pedal and started car.
Yes, there were options for extending that run time in app. That worked fine for me .
No I never had a remote start fail after 2 attempts.
I def did not change any factory settings in this remote run time features. It was too important to me from onset.

The climate control will NOT run indefinitely. The run time is based on what you setup in Sync. FordPass tells you the actual time it will turn off, as compared to the old version which displayed "Shutting off in X minutes".

I suggest you review the settings in the car under Remote Start the next time you are in it. You will understand once you look at them.

No! Remote start is running vehicle and any settings that may have been on. The fan does not accomplish anything. Ford Pass couldn’t even explain how that feature truly operates. How long what it does etc

I know. It used to make rumm rumm noises, now it does do that anymore. ?

I did see what you wrote but I never had to do that before. I will look at settings you’re mentioning. I was guessing app would give me indication if fan goes off. I’m going to test again. I did earlier and would have to agree with what you’re saying; my preset factory defaults must be 15mins. I was certain it went off and I didn’t turn it off.
Hopefully area you’re directing me to will tell me default time and allow me to adjust.

This might be a result of ford “fixing” the outside temp readings a while back. Their fix was to not update the outside and inside temperatures until you’ve driven a mile or so. I’ve also set it up to use the last settings instead of auto for remote start. I found auto to be too inconsistent and would come back to the heater on when it shouldn’t be. You might want to try “last settings” and turning off the climate auto (the hvac control one not the remote start option) so it will blow whatever you want regardless of the stupid temp sensors.

Got it. Appreciate your guidance!! Whole thing had me rattled and upset. Ford chat and then hour with Ford Pass made all worse! Lesson learned my 1st stop should have been here…admittedly I felt kinda stupid and thought I was missing something really silly! But…I suppose no dumb question when you truly don’t know answer and more important is having accurate source for correct answer! Many thanks for sticking with me on this and pointing me in right direction for help I needed
