Battery preconditioning before DCFC. Something sorely needed.Why precondition the car if you're already in it?
There’s a reason Ford hasn’t provided this in 5 years. I don’t know what that reason is, but maybe it’s the same reason Ford won’t allow one-tap access to the trunk. Whomever is in charge of the Stupid Decisions Department must have some serious clout.
I can't imagine they would add these functions to a CarPlay app rather than add them to the Sync screen via an OTA.
It’s obvious that Ford can move faster with the apps than the sync. Wild conjecture: they are going the long way around because it’s faster.
I don't think Ford can do much in Sync anymore. Perhaps the one person who knew how to program Sync retired. But they revamped the Ford App with a new underlying architecture specifically so they could move faster in the Ford App.
I hope that's not the case. Adding an important function to a CarPlay app means you are always a minimum of three clicks away from utilizing it. Other Ford vehicles use Sync, so we would assume someone knows how to program it.
