Hey everybody! I’ve been lurking for a long time as a F150 lLightning owner, hoping to double up on Ford EVs in my garage and we pulled the trigger yesterday. I have an all-wheel-drive, extended range, Premium 2025, joining the eruption green club. My 2023 lightning is very generous on estimated miles and I was surprised at 90% on the Mustang that I only had a reported range of 224 miles. It was in the 30s Fahrenheit and so I’m wondering if Ford has refined the software to be more reflective of the actual range based on temperature or perhaps based on test drives and less than 200 miles, the miles per kilowatt hour is very low right now?

Thank you for any help you can offer

On the surface that sounds about right....
I have the '24 Premium ER, and last winter here in Boston when it was in the 30's it would show about 230-ish miles at 90% SOC on the GOM, realistically I seemed to get closer to 220-225....

Thank you. That makes a lot more sense than my lightning suggesting I can go 319 miles when it’s 0° outside.

1) When you guy a vehicle, you should do a full reset, which would also reset the driving history. 2) Ignore the GOM. Look at efficiency times battery size. Are you actually getting 2.4 on the Lightning? If so, either you haven't driven it in the cold, or you go very slow. Mine gets 1.7 to 1.8 lifetime. 3) Mach-E will be around 225 or lower in the winter, efficiency close to 2.5. 4) When you charge to 100%, the GOM often resets to default of 320 or 275 on the Mach-E. Start it, put in a destination, and it will rapidly drop.

I live in Minnesota, too, and on my 2023 Mach-e Premium I get between 180 and 225 miles of “range” at 90% charge in the winter. Right now my car is sitting in the garage at 90% charge and 220 miles.

In my experience it's based upon a recent window of energy consumption. If you greatly change the parameters of your energy consumption it takes a minute to catch up.

You can see this first hand driving long distances on flat roads by varying your speed because drag is a huge factor.

The other thing that gets people is the car is so much more efficient that it's way easier to see feel efficiently parameters impact range vs the ice car that is way less efficient.

You can keep an eye on this by minimizing the trip app and keeping it in the tray to see what your mi/kw are doing.

There is some winter loss due the cold but heater usage is relatively small it's impact is felt largely over time vs going 100 mph.
