Hi All,
I have a 2023 Mach e Select with standard battery. I get that it’s only an estimate but I recently saw a massive increase in estimated mileage. The estimate was reached when I charged the battery to 80% after driving around at a steady 40 MPH. At that level of charge the estimated mileage left was 231 miles.
If my math is correct its estimate is equal to 288 miles at 100% (231/80%=288). Is there another way to calculate?
Thanks in advance.

Want the best mileage? Drive at a constant 1 MPH on level groung with no AC/Heater/radio/on a not too hot, not to cold, day. All things being equal, the faster you go the more energy you use. From what I have seen the 250 miles estimated my 2024 standard range select is based on 3.5 mile per Kwh. If you look at the "This trip" it will show you what you are getting.

So, to be clear, your confusion is why the range increases after driving 40mph?

On your September thread, you raised a similar issue.

GOM is based on your driving history.

The slower you drive, the higher the number.
The warmer it is, the higher the number.

On the same topic, with a different nit to pick, …

My old ‘21 had a GOM change somewhere in all of the OTA’s which made it much more realistic in regards to planned route, I.e., at 100% it might show a 300 mile range in my garage but when the route along interstates at 79 mph is plotted, the range would drop to a more realistic number of, say, 240.

My ‘24 doesn’t seem to do this - at least not yet. When I put that same route into the onboard navigation, the GOM doesn’t change. Of course, I know it is waaay too optimistic and I figure my own range estimate based on a more realistic m/kw but I’m wondering why there is not that same recalculation based on the planned route like I used to get. Anyone have any insight on that?

The best mileage would arguably be 23.7 mph, because that is what the world record Mach-E did (569 miles over 24 hours is approx. 23.7 mph)...
I wonder if there are other factors involved like, can you even set the cruise control to 1 MPH. Or just matching that 569 miles at 1 MPH would take 23.7 days!

It’s tied to day length, after dropping in the fall the GOM goes up with spring and warmer weather arriving. A sure a sign of spring as daffodils in the yard.
