Congrats on the new MME! ??

Regarding an adapter, I hope you are not going to try to hook the Ford Mobile Charger (FMC) up to a 220V 30A dryer outlet. The FMC only works at 32A on 220-240V. You will be over-loading the circuit, with the likelihood of blowing the breaker or possibly burning up the wiring if the breaker doesn’t blow fast enough. ??

what adapter are you waiting for?
The Mobile should have come with both 120v and 240v pigtails?

Waiting for a 10-50p to 14-50r adapter for an electric range outlet on a 40amp circuit. Everything I've read indicates that this would work fine, and it's only to tide me over until I get a new outlet installed in the garage.

10-50p to 14-50r adapter
you do NOT want to do that..... I'm not sure the charger would even allow a charge without a ground; but its just not a good idea regardless. If the charger DID work and pulled 32 amps thru the circuit designed for 30 (24 continuous), that could be a fire risk.

use either 'regular' 120v for L1 charge, or 14-50 240v for L2

A really good idea (beyond searching the forum for charging info) is to check out Tom Moloughney's State of Charge YouTube channel. My home set up is based on info from this forum and reviews from Tom's channel.

Plenty of charging threads already in place so I'm not going to say more for fear of drawing @generaltso wrath ?

It will be fine. A 10-50 lacks a neutral, not a ground. An EVSE doesn’t use the neutral.

Are you sure? I know a 6-50 has a ground with no neutral, but I think a 10-50 has a neutral and no ground. If the receptacle is fed off a main panel, the ground and neutral are probably bonded together anyway, but the adapter probably doesn't connect the neutral to the ground pin, so it would fault.

Worst case, it would be pretty easy to replace the 10-50 outlet with a 6-50 outlet.

I would be more concerned with the wiring between outlet and (40amp ?) breaker the OP said he had serving the 10-50 outlet. if it is NOT 6/3, then it could cause pretty big problems if it DID work and the mobile charger put thru 32a continuous. The adapter might be ok, the ground-neutral bond might work, but the conductors have to be able to carry the load safely too. I didn't see any pictures of the wiring either at the panel or outlet to verify what is there.....
