I clicked on the "Not Sure Yet"...

I don't think anybody knows what EVs will look like in 3-4 years let alone 8. By then I will also be retired so new car ownership desires will be replaced with decent transportation is good enough and more traveling to live life.
Exactly my situation. I'm in complete agreement.

I chose Tesla because if I were to swap today it would be a Model S.

I'm actually 2+ years away from trading so we'll have to see what the EV world looks like then.

Love Ford and have owned MANY over the years. I have been disappointed with many aspects of the Mach E. Software updates, bugs, poor dealer/service experiences.......the list goes on. What the Mach E did show me was that I will likely not purchase another ICE car. I love the EV tech.

My wants/needs are better DCFC charging experiences, faster and more options. It's getting there.
Better UI experience. My phone is set as the primary, however, every time my wife gets in the car her phone gets selected and her apple car play pops up. It stays on my profile but with her phone connected. It was very annoying at first now I just find it funny. No idea why it does it.
Better dealer and service experience is the absolute biggest one for me. It's not been horrible but most times I do end up feeling second class afterwards.

I’m still about 3 years away. But right now, thinking about either Rivian R2 or a VW ID Buzz.

I'll look to see who gives the greatest number of free kWh so that instead of charging at home, I can plop myself down at the local DCFC station with the fastest charge rate that I can't actually use and make those people who really need a charge to get to their next destination wait. ????

Love my 2021 Cal 1 and will keep it for several more years. However, I’m 77 years old, and most of my prior generation relatives and in-laws quit driving between 80 and 85 years of age. Although I’m most likely to buy another EV, which model may well depend on how robust the driver assist features are. I have noticed that losing the ability to drive due to advancing age usually leads to the loss of independence, i.e. the old folks home or move in with the kids. Whether that is a simple association vs. cause and effect, I’m not sure, but I don’t want to take any chances.

You know I’ve always been a V8 Mustang owner either the 4.6 went down to the six-cylinder in 2011 because it actually was quicker than the 2010 4.6 when I first saw the turbo four-cylinder mustang I’m like wow it looks just like one with a coyote, but it’s like a four-cylinder With a turbo, So what I would think would be kind of neat is if they made another electric Mustang and made it just look like the same as all the other mustangs if that was possible the EV is only like 1 inch shorter than a standard 2 inches maybe so that would be kind of cool that you wouldn’t be able to except by looking at the exhaust pipes like you can now

Let’s see what you think!
My '21 will be three years old in August. I have around 20k miles on it today. My previous vehicle had about 10 years on it when I replaced it. My next one will likely show up around the 10 year mark as well all things going as expected. I'm probably on the fringes of the typical MME owner who has a need to keep up with the latest trends on a recurring basis. Looks like we'll be in then next decade , and I'll be nearing the end of my lifetime driving era when all that happens..

It's hard to think Ford is not abandoning the MME.
I don't think so, though I have no evidence to the contrary. I'm guessing that software updates will slow down when the Android Automotive version of Sync launches but I don't think that's been confirmed to be launching for the next model year.

I'd love to stick with Ford, but they can't seem to figure out the software thing even after 3 years. Time and patience has run out with Ford's "Soon". You could spend your entire lease or loan period waiting for an update to fix an issue. Look how long the frunk button took for early 2021s.

If the customer experience mattered, Ford would have created a program for dealers to update all early EVs to the latest software free of charge to bypass shortcomings with their OTA process. And the UI improvements we've long asked for would have been implemented in months, not years.
Wow, when someone like you says this it's got to be a little concerning to Ford.

For my part, no plans to get rid of the Mach-E for years, but we have a second car (ICE) that'll be getting a little long in the tooth within a couple of years. I'd like to replace it with an EV, though spouse isn't convinced and likes the "redundancy" of having an ICE alternate.

We'll see where we are (and the state of charging infrastructure and so forth) in a couple of years and make a decision then.

Definitely going to be an EV. Ford could still be a strong contender. 2033 is a long way away. If Mazda wakes up and makes an EV, that could be interesting.

my selection would be an EV other than Tesla. Maybe another MachE or another brand. I am interested in EV's with higher range than 300 miles and 800 volt system

Agreed. Seven months without updates. OTA is dead.

I chose "another EV that's not a Mach-e or Tesla", but that's not a slight on the Mach-e. We love ours and hope to keep it for many years. But after that, I'll just want to try something new and different.

..that isn't a Tesla.

Probably something along the lines of the Lexus TX Hybrid. Love the Mach-E. Also love the Explorer. So, I think that is going to be the closest thing to a marriage of the two unless Ford comes out with a Hybrid in the explorer quickly. Since it does not look like the 25 Explorer has one I think we may have to shift brands.

For me, it would be an equivalent of what Ford Mach E offers in terms of features and a NACS architecture.

Tesla doesn’t offer some of the features I have come to enjoy in my EV and Gas cars (RCTA BSM 360CAM) and I’ll certainly be not looking to give up on those in my next car. Tesla will likely not add them anytime soon so it’ll have to be a miracle for me to return to Tesla.

I am seriously looking into a BMW X5 i40e plug in (I6-turbo, ~500hp 0-60 in 4.5sec). Can go ~50miles before engine kicks in. My wife miss her gen2 Volt and has range anxiety. Even the base X5 with a turbo I6 with mild hybrid might be fast enough. Will still keep my cyber orange for in-state driving.
