This AM (pouring rain, windows closed) the Driver's Console stopped working. Worked last night on the way home as I use the mirror button to 'swing out' the mirror when I merge to get a better look behind me.

This AM I did that to merge onto the highway, and nothing. No lights on the selections and no action. Then I tried the windows, also nothing.

The Mrs said I should have put the car cover on eVee last night, but it was already raining cats & dogs out here and besides, don't they put it in a 100 mile wind tunnel to be sure no water leakage?

Anyway, does anyone have any ideas? What's the fuse for the window/mirror before I have to sit in the rain looking for it?

Thanks!

Never had any problem with rain in Florida, if you google Mach-E fuse diagram should be able to find which one, pretty sure it’s in the panel under the passenger foot well

The fuse for the Drivers Door Module (DDM) which controls the mirrors, windows, door locks, etc. is fuse 14 (30 amp) next to the BCM in the passenger footwell. The thing is, not sure if it's the fuse as your panel was lit up and it also controls the lights in that panel. I think it would be best to have a dealer look at it.

This is what the view of fuses looks like in that area:

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your Mach-E concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.

I'll give it a look-see and if it's a fuse it should be easy. I turned it off at an intersection, opened the door to 'force quit' and then turn it back on, but still no 'action'. And when I got to the office, I filmed this and tried off/door open/ on again with the same results.

I'm going in to have the Windshield camera/Coax replaced due to the dealer breaking them when they did the Windshield/Pano recall, so I'll have them look at it if it's not an easy fix. (well, not the same dealer as I've taken it back three times and they still hadn't fixed the coax errors...)

Interesting, I've never heard of someone adjusting their mirror in real time this way. I'm curious, how do you have your mirrors configured normally? Can you see the sides of your car from a normal viewing angle?

Yup, when I'm merging on to the highway, the ramp is basically facing the other side of the freeway (Diagonally, so if you look in your driver's side-view mirror it's useless) so looking in your mirror to merge only gives you a view of the cars behind you also merging.

/ / | | rough idea of the concept. Pushing the mirror out helps.

But if you swing your mirror out, it gives you a view of the traffic in the lane you are merging into.

And yes, the mirrors are normally adjusted to see a touch of each side of the car and the view behind me. And if Ford could allow us to press the preset button while moving (I understand why not, what if you hit the wrong preset and you get squished up to the steering wheel, or if you got pushed all the way back and the steering wheel was too far away). At least while you are driving, pushing the preset should do everything *except* seat controls would be nice. Oops, wrong/guest profile? Hit the preset all changes but the seat.

My FE did this once. It started working later when I got in the car and I never had the problem again.

Don't cover the car the wind will just damage the paint with the cover. Its designed to get wet.

Yes, I know, the Mrs has other ideas.

"The driver's console 'broke' because we didn't cover it in the deluge we are having right now"

no dear...

OK, out to the car today, and everything seems to work again. Strange phenomenon...
Yup sounds like exactly what happened to me! Hopefully it doesn't happen again.

Turn it off, turn it back on. Works (most) every time.
Yeah, in my case I turned it off, then on and still nothing, then arrived at the office, turned it off then on, still dead.

Took ~9 hours later going out to the car and turning it on for it to work.

so far so good...
