2023 Mach-E GTPE with what appears to have the classic HVBJB issue. Called 4 dealerships and the best they could do was someone looking at it in 2 weeks and no dealership had a loaner. Called Ford Customer Service and the best they could do was $40/day on a rental that was a Ford but couldn't find any so I would still be paying out of pocket.

This feels insane to me. Every single person from Ford at both dealerships and Customer Service has basically said there is nothing they can do because its not their problem. Ford still sells them though. So the end game is just to keep selling faulty cars until service departments collapse? At this point I guess I just wait for them to drag their feet so long it's a lemon but I'm still out a car.

I had to lemon my Polestar 2 but at least they always kept me in a car. Is there any other option I'm missing?

Kendall Ford in Marysville is which is why my car is there.

Edit: Not Kendall Marysville, Titus Will Tacoma. I've called too many dealerships.....

Almost lemoned my 2023 CR1. It was at the dealer for 12 weeks waiting for a part to arrive. I was offered the $40/day which was less than half the cost of any Ford rental I could find. WA lemon law requires a loaner or rental to be provided after the first week of an eligible car being in the shop and not driveable. I had to force the issue with Ford and the dealership...

Sounds like you're already familiar with the lemon process wherever you are located. Check your laws regarding a loaner or rental. After that, sounds like you're going to have more lemonade.

Didn't know about the about the rental requirement in WA. They are on attempt two and 12 days now out of service so yeah, lemonade.

I'll look more into the required loaner. Going to dig into the warranty stuff tonight too.

Is the car dead? I drove mine for two weeks until the part came in and then negotiated a loaner from the dealer for the two days they needed the car to fix it.

I was advised by the service department to not drive it and to have it towed to them. The car struggled to accelerate to 55 mph and regenerative braking was incredibly inconsistent. Sometimes it would work, sometimes it would not exist (thankfully friction brakes still worked unlike my Polestar...), and sometimes it would "pulse."

Oh. Mine just had reduced power. Kinda along the lines of driving a camary around.

I just went back through my paperwork and couldn't find the rental/loaner requirement part. I don't remember how or when that information got to me, so don't rely on me for accuracy. My apologies.

Yeah, it's totally insane. Maybe it's possible in Flint, Michigan or Detroit to get a Ford rental for $40/day. Maybe it was easier pre-COVID. But today, in most of the country? GTFOH. I looked once just for funsies in my neck of the woods and I couldn't find a Ford even for $90/day.

Lemon lawing a car must cost Ford a pretty penny. If that's a possibility (based on the requirements and laws in your state) you should have a lot of room to negotiate some more assistance.

I just scheduled my HVJB replacement and they are providing a rental IAW the recall documentation. Offered. No fight. Sounds like you need a new dealer?

Don't worry. You don't need a loaner. In about 7 months, ford will send you a mobile charging pad and a 50$ amazon gift card. That's all you need!!

I can’t help fix your car, but I can help you find a bunch of Ford rentals for less than $40/day in Tacoma-

If you can, lemon law it and be done. My 21 is in the shop still waiting for parts for the hvbjb recall and has been for a month. Ford told me they wouldn’t pay for a rental and no one from customer service will call me back when I request a supervisor. I contacted the @Ford Motor Company account here and was told to keep working with the people I’m working with, by which they mean the people who won’t call me back.

I am absolutely floored to see how poorly Ford has handled this customer service. Unfortunately I just missed out on being able to lemon law mine here so I will have to wait to turn it in when my ford options balloon payment comes due.

I think parts supply is not limited to Ford. As much as one would like believe that Ford as a ubiquitous brand and its vehicle parts can be sourced even from local Walmarts, it is not the case with the Mach-E.
Think about it, the MachE is Fords very first mass produced EV.
That said, Ford or any mfg should provide loaner vehicles that are similar in quality(or better) to the car that's being fixed under warranty. When my BMW wagon was in for warranty/recall work, we were given X6, X3, and a 3-series as loaners.
