My Mustang MachE is set to charge to 85% overnight. The car does not charge to this level; this morning it only reached 67%. We use the Ford level 2 EVSE with a 240v outlet on a 50-amp circuit with a 50-amp circuit breaker. Within the last six months, we occasionally get a flashing yellow light on the Ford EVSE. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to fix this?

You didn't say that it ever charged to 85% successfully... If it never has, then your electrician might have miswired it and it's delivering only 120v.

Many people have had issues with the Ford Mobile Charger. Your manual tells you what the lights mean, on page 162. Amber is the fault indicator, and indicates that it may have overheated. Unplug, let it sit a while, then plug in. If it repeats, have the dealer replace it under warranty.

I see you are in Florida... likely hot when you are charging... the Ford EVSE will ramp down and eventually shut off if it's too hot. That is what the Amber means. Really suggest you pick up a robust aftermarket EVSE and leave the Ford one in your frunk for travel needs. Lots of good ideas in the forum for these.

As has been said, the Mobil Charger is well known to overheat and throttle the charging speed down. There may be value in testing your outlet, and making sure the dongle is well seated into the charger’s body. But most likely it’s a fragile charger. Long term solution is a beefier home charging unit.

Thanks for the suggestions. To answer your questions, the car has charged to 85% before, and we have had the EVSE replaced under warranty. So we will get a new EVSE and see if that helps.
