Today it would cost $175 to fill my F-150, which gets me about 600 miles down the road - about US $.29/mile.

For the next 6 months, I will be charging the Mach E from a PV solar array, which is paid for, so essentially it's "free".

Need to add StaBil to the F-150 gas tank since the truck will be parked for most of the summer.

Pros and cons of EV’s. Right now it’s a pro. In the dead of winter it’s a con.

Gas prices will go back down eventually.

Have been happily not missing the pumps for more than four years and will never miss them again. Have yet to experience a single con to our all-electric driving.

Not missing the pumps.

Our electricity has gone up twice in the last seven years. Both times they raised the base rate (currently $58.85 including state tax) and left the price for the actual electricity used the same. One reason for this is it makes solar payoff period longer. The only solar I have seen around here are Amish which are not hooked up to the grid anyway. There is also less incentive to conserve when electricity is $.125/kWh including tax. On the flip side, it costs the same charge the car now as it would have seven years ago.
