Odd humm

hi,
my mach e 2022 extended awd started making a loud hum that sounds like its coming from the outside speaker. when i am in reverse, it is along side with the 'beep' of the reverse, by the hum is also there in drive!
the only changed i've made is recently i enabled the handsfree liftgate with forscan (although it isn't working, perhaps i dont have the hardware)

The hum should get slightly louder as you increase speed, until you are above 18mph at which point it silences.

This is normal operation for the pedestrian sounder.

Yup. Sit with your windows down (especially in a garage where you’ll really hear it), and move from park to drive. Hum start? If you go from drive to park, does it stop? That’s the Federally-mandated pedestrian warning sound for EVs and hybrids.

thanks, - that must be what it is. i had never had the window open as i started to drive (or outside the car when with someone else driving)

If it becomes annoying putting it in park will stop it. That will also tell you it is the pedestrian sound.
