Two thoughts:

1. Odd that the NA version is sized for DCFC whereas the Euro one isn't.

2. $80 for a piece of plastic....yikes.
Agree - in Canada its $104. If I didn't have FordPass points burning a hole in my pocket I'd pass

Said the same thing. Think because it looks like a permanent mount and stays there while the door closes. Could just see the dirt and debris getting on that huge hole and sitting in the bottom of it over time. I like the L2 only but easy removal pop in and out would be a must. If the NA one is permanent and not easy to remove it does not work for me. They could just change the back panel of the enclose itself in the future. The lip at the base could be better right now it is tipped in with drain hole. The push in to open needs TLC. It all works fine but could be better in their future.

They gave me 50000 points for a bad install and a month with no fordpass/conductivity. Told them I would give them $250 for a working departure schedule ;) Do not see that sticker price in my future for still a big hole. The EU's looks slick but also pricey. The sock over the charger handle was a big plus for me. Fixed the problem; quick and really changed nothing with how it all works.

Hmmm... meh. More parts to get lost. I prefer the Canadian Macapuche product.

Just got an email that the part in not, in fact, in stock and no known availability. They gave me the option of a prepaid special order with no delivery date. I declined. I bet you get the same @Benny’66
Murse, just got my confirmation shipping email from FairwayFord that this just shipped. Just in time for this winter. Really surprised they kept this order (back order) open for 10 months! I completely forgot about it.

Thanks for the reminder. Maybe it’s time to check in with my dealer if they’re now available.

I recommend the MACAPUCHE Canadian product, 1st posted by SpaceEVDriver the forum member from Arizona.

I really like mine.

Just got mine. Comes with door sleeve, that doubles as storage bag. Fits very nicely. Something for the frunk.

I grew up and went to schools in snowy/icy areas but now live in Louisiana. There are advantages and well-known disadvantages to living down here. Among the fun aspects is watching people on TV news stuck in blizzards while our azaleas bloom at Mardi Gras time.

But reading this thread is even better. Thanks, all!

Check out the 2nd pic on the page - seems to come with a little bag to cover the charge door.

My home-grown solution right now consists of a cut-out from thick rubber floor mat + the waterproof nylon bag my winter windshield cover came in, which is basically this, minus the redneck engineering.

I'd still like to cover the charge handle as well as I've had it freeze and not release. Had to warm up the whole handle for a good 10 minutes before it would release.
Hey there. It’s been sometime since I lived with snow and ice. But, a group of Mach E owners are having a problem with their port doors freezing shut. I’ve recommended this product to them. It would be my understanding to place the bag over the door to stop it from getting stuck?? Am I understanding correctly? One is telling me I am wrong.
Did it work out well for you? Thank you for your assistance!

Yep - the included bag covers the charge port door to keep it out of the elements. But it's designed to be used when charging - I suppose one could use it all the time, or when bad weather is forecast. The one thing it doesn't do is prevent ice from forming on the charger handle itself.
