I am going to use COVID as a reason that I want no-one and I mean no one inside it besides the person who takes it off the truck. Also I am asking for nothing on the inside to be prepped. I want all the factory stuff on it and I am there the day it's delivered or next. I am sure since it will be close to first ones they will be tempted to joy ride it. I do have OCD's people and that refresh thing hit home hard. ugh..
Meh: As long as they wipe it down and leave the windows open outside for an hour or so (as long as it isn't snowing).

As far as how I'm feeling about OKTB being delayed....

I suspect they're struggling to stay relevant too. Pre-internet, CR was a pretty big deal (as were magazines). There weren't a lot of places you could turn to as a consumer to get reviews of products before buying them.

Well, the internet changed all that. Not only are there ton's of reviews and research material easily available elsewhere now, it's usually FREE. Which shoots holes all over CR's business model.
I trust CR for some things and not others.

We just bought the gf a new dishwasher a few weeks ago and bought a Bosch 500 series because of CR. It's still new, but so far, holy crap has it been the best dishwasher I've ever seen, bar none. The CR ratings and recommendation were spot on.

For a car, though? Nope. Their car podcast is really interesting, but it isn't guiding me as to what to buy.

Edit: No OKTB yet. There, getting the thread back on track.

Whatever you do, don't tell him about 500 people touched every part on his car (to assemble it, lol).
Those are okay, transit time should kill anything remaining but I trust the plant way more than any dealership.

The thing about CR ... is they try to review everything regardless of industry. Cars, cameras, kitchen blenders, etc. it doesn't matter what it is. There are others who specialize in their industry and *only* review technology they really know.

I have areas where I don't know much and don't follow closely ... and areas where I'm pretty passionate. And every so often I'd see them write a review about a product area where I'm pretty passionate and knowledgable and ... they'd blow the review. It was clear to me that they didn't have people reviewing products who actually *understood* the product, technology, or industry where they were trying to insert themselves as an expert.

I'd rather read a car review done by someone who really knows cars. And if the car is an EV ... I'd rather those reviews really only be done by people who really know EV's.
I just shook my head over their wine review once. Wine? Really? They author had probably done blenders the week before.

I’m the opposite. I like my wine reviewed by people who like to also review blenders. I like blenders, they reviewed blenders, common ground.

An update for anyone that saw I have access to my vehicle location etc thru my Ford Pass. Since being built on Nov 27 I have been checking on it daily. It came out of the factory with 30 km on it. It now has 47 km on it. Noticed it has gone to charge twice and is now parked near the rail lines with a 74% charge. Not sure what will happen with the delay issue. But it seems I should be able to track it once on the rails.
Did you check your journey history? How far are the rail lines from the factory.

My pet peeve is when dealerships place their branded stupid stickers or license plate frames on the cars. Look, unless you want to pay me an advertising fee to drive around with your name on MY car, they better not even think about doing it.

Oh yea - I despise dealership stickers. I always tell them no stickers, if they want to give me a plate cover, I'll leave it on (if I've had a good experience) for a month or so.

Last car didn't have stickers, that I had seen, until I realized they stuck one of those "IF IN AN ACCIDENT, CONTACT *****" with the dealer info/etc inside the door frame.

The rail line is right beside where the vehicle was last parked. You can see the car carriers on google earth. But today I got a message that they did a master reboot of the computer. Since that I have lost contact with my car. Tried to re enter my info but I need someone that’s in the vehicle to press OK. Was just lucky the first time I think. We will see. I will keep trying.

I am OK with supporting my local dealer when out; not really much of a big deal. I care how it runs and not too much how it looks. If I think the front plate frame creates more drag it will be gone. Wish we could get rid of it all together.
I presume they factor in more than just that one fact. But "predicted reliability" is a pretty silly measure to begin with (for any model). And CR seems to be big on it. It's part of why I don't use them.

Another is that I have no intention of paying for their guesses. ?
I can't even access the complete article but it would be hard to give a rating if you have not tested or inspected the vehicle and have based the rating on completely different engineering of past EV's by different manufactures.

That would be opinionated, none factual and unprofessional to me. I normally get my info from collaborated owners reviews anyway. Less politics the better. Pay to get their review; ya right. Is their creditably and professionalism worth paying for? Ans: Not for me.

That makes sense - My guess is some employee saw the activation on the screen one day and accepted. Someone probably realized the issue later on and reset it.

It's one thing to "support" your local dealer. I believe I'm already doing that by buying a vehicle at MSRP from them. It's a step too far to place advertisements on our property, without compensation. To each their own though. If you want to consent, more power to you.

Well, that is a very good sign.
To me it means it is back in Transport Mode and whatever reason it was taken out of that mode is now resolved.
