I've got sooo many questions about this update and all updates as well:
1. The notification I got through the FordPass app has no built-in link. Manually searching for the link provided goes nowhere (just back too support). Searching in the web page in support bring up many link that likewise go nowhere.
2. My charge cord lock has always worked and the lock button next to the plug still does nothing.
3. Why doesn't the (LAME) FordPass App store full details (or even a web page reference to) the history?
4. I had update scheduled for MO-TH @1-5AM but this one came in yesterday apparently at 2PM. This is dangerous! I don't want app updates while I'm driving!!!
5. There's no support on weekends. Why?
I can’t address all your questions but here are answers

Please take a moment and review the earlier comments. I also learned that some updates (which do not affect vehicle operations) need to be installed while the car is in use. That’s why this update occurred during the day.

Next there is also a link to the updates and their purpose we can use to track them. Thank you to user @elmedico27

https://github.com/elmedico27/fordpowerup

Lastly, my charging cord lock button doesn’t work either. Because I have my key fob (and now my phone-as-a-key) which automatically negates the need for the charge port lock button.
Simply having either “key” near the car auto-disengages the lock. Without this the car would need to be unlocked and then I also need to push the lock button to release the charge cord. With these “keys” you just remove the charge cord.
I could be wrong but that’s been my experience.

Have a ‘24 Premium we picked up in Feb. Received this update last night (first one since we got the car). I am in EAP.

Got the OTA update while it sat in underground parking in downtown Toronto. Was out for the afternoon.
BC of the ignorance of update window that I put in and the lack of a link to detail what (if anything useful) was applied, I have turned off ALL Updates (on my app, or FPA as I call it) and in the vehicle's settings (if different).

Strongly object to haphazard download of updates ignoring limits set by the "User" AKA me. If this is the way for Ford to support upgrades, that's a no-go and I'll ask the dealer to do it going forward! There are MANY anomalies in the Ford software that I have found and I certainly do not need or want another one applied while I'm operating the vehicle as happened here.

If anyone from Ford is watching on this thread, please convey my feeling to whom it will do the most good or contact me off line.

Thanks, JeffGo. That's certainly more than I was able to get from the cryptic messaging on the app. BTW their web site to go look for the update history was soooo wrong.

As long as you don't have automatic updates, you can use the link below to get more info on the last update/current update Available

Unfortunately only third party links show the version history. I would like to know what exactly the update is meant for BEFORE DOING IT.

You still need to push the charge unlock button before removing the charge cord while DC fast charging. This automatic unlocking feature with a key or fob nearby only enables the unlock button but you still need to press it while charging is active before trying to remove the cord. Without a key or fob nearby, the car needs to be unlocked first to enable the button but then it still needs to be pressed before releasing the cord. The button is what physically unlocks the cord (you can hear it). The new “locking” feature just disables the button.

Cool, thanks! I’m driving from Toronto to Montreal tomorrow and will try this out when I DC recharge in Kingston.

I thought I'd start a thread for this Sync Update. Saw 1 2024 get this OTA so far. Anyone else?

Sync version 25095_Product

"Priority Update - Vehicle Systems

Update Experience

Experience a more efficient update process, ensuring updates are managed seamlessly.

To view your past software updates, or if you've had multiple updates completed recently, visit:
ford.com/support/software-update-release-notes-history
Accessory Protocol Interface Module

SYNC-25.2.1.6.5"
Since I now see (from the 3ᎿᎰ posting shared elsewhere on this thread) that are numerous sub-systems that have individualized OS and/or firmware updates provided through Ford, is there a more thorough listing of all subsystems that can be updated?

Secondly is there a download of the Mach-E charge levels, the M/kWh kept on board or in the maintenance logs that are available to the vehicle owner.

I'd like to have access to all maintenance logs of my vehicle.

PTS or FDRS will let you know of any updates available to any individual module based on your VIN. Both have diagnostic capabilities but PTS includes the service manual. FDRS is the only safe way to apply module updates. Forscan could give you diagnostic info as well and you can apply configurations at your own risk.

If you're wanting to go down the FDRS rabbit hole: https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...uide-to-updating-your-mach-e-with-fdrs.10217/

When you were asking about what exactly updates do, sometimes you can get better detail on the NHTSA.gov website when looking up your vehicle, otherwise Ford may mention a fix for issues in their TSBs.

https://www.ford.com/support/service-information/

Most companies in recent years have eliminated detailed change logs with their updates, so it's not at all unique to Ford. I wouldn't bother fishing for info if you're not running into a problem, but obviously you have some tools available as well as your dealer if you do run into an issue.

I like to learn the alternatives. This is very helpful for a newbie like me. Expanding the mnemonics...
* TSB (Technical Service Bulletin)
* NHTSA (National Highway Transportation Agency)
* FDRS (Ford Diagnosis and Repair System)
* PTS (?)
FDRS warnings seem well-deserved. Not interested in tinkering, just the opposite, want to know when something gets tinkered with, E.G., on an OTA update that happens while I'm on the road (AND PREFER NOT TO HAVE THAT HAPPEN AT ALL!) thanks, Ford.

PTS = Professional Technician System

If you don't want OTAs, as long as you have automatic updates off as you mentioned, you should be all good. Enjoy your car :)
