OTA updates.

I received the driver monitoring update in the middle if the night, Saturday July 13 according to the car. In addition, Ford Pass says the driver monitoring update was updated on the 13th.

This morning, the 16th, the car seemed to say the driver monitoring update was not installed.

A short while later the not completed notice was replaced with one saying BC1.3 is scheduled for tonight. That’s even though my car is a 23.5 whose window sticker says it has BC 1.3, 90 day trial, as standard equipment.

The “system “ seems to be confused. Maybe the “system “ and the car need a double espresso to blast out the cobwebs.

PTS shows that CMR-FX installed just fine.

Also, having BC 1.3 from factory does not mean you won't get the BC 1.3 update. It is newer IPMA software than the one your car came with, so you'll still get it. Whether BC 1.3 will be improved or not is the real question.

My biggest issue with BC, when I tried it during the trial, and with ACC deals with different speed limit signage on the I 66 HOT lanes and non-toll lanes outside the beltway. The lanes are right next to each other separated by flexible lane delineators. Speed limit signage is the standard right side placement. Unfortunately the car can’t differentiate between the main line and toll lane speed limit signs. I don’t know if my Acura with ACC knew the difference or not. My guess is probably not. This is similar to the issue people have with the car picking up adjacent frontage and exit speed signs. Would be nice if the update improves the car’s ability to tell the difference, if it’s even possible to do so via software (or whether it’s a hardware issue). Meanwhile the fix is, I don’t use ACC in areas I know will confuse the car. I’ll let you know after the update.

wondering if anyone here has taken the car to a service centre to have all the latest updates applied? seems safer & more reliable, connected to power, the right tools etc.

mine seemed a bit buggy during a month since new. took it back, needed 16 updates overnight.

Dealers do not get paid by the manufacturer to perform module updates just because they are not up to date. Some people have reported getting lucky and the dealer does the updates, but this is a minority of cases. You can try and ask, but I would keep my expectations low.

Ha! Zero of course. The car is new & only one month old.
