OTA updates.

So far, the only glitches I’ve experienced are that one of the garage door buttons I programmed to open the gate to our neighborhood has stopped working intermittently. It just started acting up this past week. With so many updates being installed, it’s difficult to say if there is a direct correlation. But, I’m going to wipe and reprogram that button today and see if that fixes the problem. The other change I noticed is the mirrors no longer fold when the car locks. I need to reenable that option today as well. Otherwise, all seems good.

The opener buttons have zero connection to the car's systems, they only get 12v power.

I also noticed that the folding mirrors setting reset after the last update.

I'm on vacation in Maine for a week. Hoping that when I return home, my Mach-E will have an update ready to install so I won't have to keep seeing 6.3.0 "Not Completed".

Was a bug on 23s where it wouldn’t open all the way if the car was locked so you had to hit the button twice.

I always thought I was doing something wrong ??? sometimes it only opens a little and I have to press again

I haven't had an update since August 17, 2023. I'm hoping the dam will break soon, or perhaps I'm stuck without an OTA forever.

yup, I had the same exact issue on my 23 just like you describe it. Seems to fixed now.

New bug introduced by an update. Proceed to GO, but do not collect $200.

Looks like my chain of successful updates has been broken. This morning, I checked the updates screen in the car and found Software Update 6.14.0 Not Completed. AT&T cellular coverage in my neighborhood is rather poor. The car was in the garage over night which has great WIFI coverage. So, not sure what caused this update not to complete.

Anyone have any ideas on why this happens and if there is a fix to get the update to complete?

I understand that Ford have forced stop updates at random?

Sometimes they'll register that even if the update is still running in the background. I'm not sure but I think 6.14 is the IPC update? If so it takes FDRS 3 hours to run so you may have caught it still running, give it a day or two.

"Not Completed" means the OTA failed for some reason. I can check the reason why it failed with the VIN, but it is moot point now. Once the OTA trigger fails, all you can do it was for it to be resent to your car.

Months go by and nothing, Today back to back updates. One was something about the audio system the next was the left gate? Why would a liftgate need an update ?

Do you have the patch notes or versioning for the lift gate update?

I recieved back to back updates as well after about 4 months of nothing. The first update said "update to improve future updates" and the second update was PowerUp 6.14. No notes mentioned the liftgate, but I did suffer from the liftgate bug. Interestingly, the last update to 6.14 also automatically opened my liftgate which I discovered in my garage two days later. Fortunately it didn't hit anything when it opened. Gotta imagine the update opening the liftgate randomly would be bad for folks without a garage and/or leave their car in the hood for weeks on end.

Yeah but what version I guess. People get updates at different times. Some people got the lift gate fix six months ago

Oh I have no clue. On a PC I’d look under “about” and see the version. Not sure how to on this beast

I received the driver monitoring update in the middle if the night, Saturday July 13 according to the car. In addition, Ford Pass says the driver monitoring update was updated on the 13th.

This morning, the 16th, the car seemed to say the driver monitoring update was not installed.

A short while later the not completed notice was replaced with one saying BC1.3 is scheduled for tonight. That’s even though my car is a 23.5 whose window sticker says it has BC 1.3, 90 day trial, as standard equipment.

The “system “ seems to be confused. Maybe the “system “ and the car need a double espresso to blast out the cobwebs.
