I live in an area with a lot of homeless people and I'm worried about my car being broken into or vandalized (wouldn't be the first time).

I just checked my phone and saw that I'd gotten a notification in FordPass that the alarm had been tripped, but I had no idea it had gone off. Is there any way to set PaaK to use my phone's ringtone or something? I'm not going to notice a little text alert in an emergency.

It's supposed to do that regardless... You may not have seen the notification because the app was put to sleep or something

Almost certainly this will be app-based, not necessarily notifications based. (Caveat: I’m on iOS.) IME the notifications (per app) can be customized to be louder/specific ringtone/etc., but I don’t think Ford has exposed any way to change the ring based on the content of the notification.

I probably did turn it off by accident... I don't like having 3-4 undismissable notifications hanging out in my notifications area, so I turned some of them off.

Do you happen to know what part of the app controls alarms? The notifications available for toggle through FordPass are mostly related to charge levels and plugging in, which are not helpful for me.

In Android, there are 5 notification services: FordPass, AppLink, Paak foreground services, Walk Away Lock, and App icon badges. Each of those can be toggled separately, but I don't know which one is used for the alarm.

Most likely will be "FordPass" that the notification would fall under.

"Foreground services" is the only one that will give you a persistent, undismissible notification.. (the one that either says connected to your car, or trying to connect to your car).

I have that one turned off myself, the alarm is classified as "Ford Pass"

I will say, on my app although I rarely Miss notifications, they sometimes come in 10 or 15 minutes later

This setting could also be a reason you're not seeing notifications

Thanks for the help, everyone. I'm going to keep Foreground Services off, but enable everything else, and make sure my phone isn't optimizing FordPass's battery usage. Hopefully that'll let me hear the alarm next time.
