Since getting my PaaK update at the dealer, I've had the usual "Key not found" message with the same frequency after starting the car (and similar "restart now or key is needed") as before the update. (It literally happened on the way home from the dealer!) For similar reasons, had my alarm go off in my driveway again. (Sorry neighbors! Again!)

What I wouldn't give for a way to disable this security system that I wasn't asked if I wanted. Or a PaaK update that actually does something.

Out of curiosity, how is the AT&T service in your area, if you know?

Did you delete and re-setup PAAK as that seems to be a necessary step after getting the update.

I just removed PAAK in the Ford Pass app and then set it up again and now the PAAK seems to respond with no prompt for password while you drive off.

Can you describe the sequence of events where your alarm goes off?

I deleted all the keys from the app first, then uninstalled the app, restarted the phone, installed the app again, downloaded the keys and it worked fine.
Just reinstalling the app did not work for me.
Thanks.

Sure. It can happen lots of ways and I'm not sure I can give you an *exact* repro so this is based off memory (since I can't at will tell the car to pretend it is or is not connected), but one example:
  1. Press button to open door. Car detects PaaK so unlocks and opens door. Get inside.
  2. Close door. Car no longer detects PaaK so locks and arms after you close the door.
  3. Open door or try to start engine. Alarm goes off.
Note that this is a different situation than PaaK allows you to open door, you try to start engine, it says no key detected, pops up the prompt to enter your password.

I've had it happen in other ways that I think is:
  1. Press button to open door. Kid gets in car, closes door.
  2. PaaK loses connection.
  3. Open driver's side door. Alarm goes off.
It's really hard to quantify but it's happened to me at least half a dozen times, and in all cases when originally PaaK had been detected which is how I'd opened the car in the first place.

Based off suggestions in this thread, I removed PaaK key from my phone, force stopped the app, wiped app storage, uninstalled, reinstalled, and set everything up again. Did that last night.

Today, twice, the following sequence of events:

  1. Walk up to car, lights light up
  2. Open trunk with on-car button, put something in it, close trunk
  3. Go to driver door, press button, unlocks and opens fine
  4. Sit down in driver's seat, push start button, "No key detected"
It's so crazy. It literally detected my key three different times outside the car and then failed between opening the door and sitting down.
