I do the same as well.I keep the FOB hidden in the car inside a small Faraday pouch (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B4DCLY87). This gives me two backup options if PAAK fails, the password and the FOB.
PAAK 100% since March 2021.I do the same as well.
FOB in car only when at dealer or when programming. PAAK is king.I have used Phone as a key exclusively a few times (left the fob at home) but as a general rule I always carry the fob with me too because without the fob the door locks seem to take a couple of extra seconds to connect and operate and it's just enough of a cause to scare that it's not going to work.
Do most of you on this forum carry the fob in a belt and suspenders state of mind?
I have my door code, and the secret start code and even the instructions on using the codes in my phone, but I still can't wean myself from the fob.
What's the consensus here?
I use PAAK always. The few times it didn’t work immediately I got my phone out and brought fordpass up and that seemed it get PAAK to work. I do have a fob in a faraday bag just in case.
Thank goodness phones don't run on batteries, or else PAAK would suffer from the same issue...Until the battery goes dead.
