Another issue with glass can be additional glare from above
In my 4 years with the car I’ve never had issues with glare through the sun roof. The main screen has always been quite viewable. That is from the land of perpetual summer,

I’m 6’2” as well and have 4” of headroom to spare without the pano. Must have a lot of pro basketball players and cowboy hat aficionados in here :)
depends on your build type. some of my friend are crazy long in the torso but not so much the legs...lol

I’m about to order a 2025 GT and am on the fence about the panoramic roof. Just wondering if anyone who has the glass roof would recommend otherwise. Also curious if any uses a sunshade on the roof.

I have a panoramic roof in my current car but always leave the built-in shade closed in the warmer months. Wondering if I should skip it this time.
I have the panoramic roof and sun is no problem at all. Ford did a great job on keeping the heat out never had to use a sunscreen here in Tennessee. Now if you ever buy a Tesla you’re screwed. My Y with a roof sunscreen easily gets up to 120+ in no time at all, complete garbage

Love the sunroof. Unlike Tesla, the Mach E has low emissivity glass. The result is that under most conditions it will release more heat than it gains.

If you lived in Arizona, you might be better off with a solid roof with light colored paint. Your profile indicates you're in Massachusetts. You'll be fine and are unlikely to ever need a shade. We live in Maryland and don't feel a need for one. However, you can always change your mind and buy a shade if you want. It's not reasonable to add a sunroof later.

I have the Mach-E Premium 22' with the sunroom and love it. Kids really enjoy watching the rain and snow.

I also have a 22' Explorer with the sunroof and the Mach-E is much higher quality. You can tell the Mach-E resists the temperate changes much better and you don't feel like you are being baked by the sun.

I have a 2021 premium and like the panoramic roof. Many people sitting in the back seats have commented on how great it is, and I have not needed a sunshade.

I think it is a total waste of money and glass, and a potential expensive repair.

We had to tint ours (Arizona) and quite frankly, it only is enjoyable by the back seat passengers, so unless you are being chauffeured in this car, it is a total waste. We don't have kids. only the dog and groceries sit back there in our car.

I would have rather had a glass sliding moonroof with a slide shade, like my 2009 Sport Trac has.

The panoramic roof is probably the feature I was looking forward to the most but has turned out to be the most underwhelming to me. I don't get to look out it while I'm driving, so it's kind of just there. I don't regret it and wouldn't avoid it the next time I buy, but I wouldn't consider it a must-have. Passengers who ride in the back seat almost always comment on it, so that's nice I guess. I'd rather have a sunroof/moonroof that can open if that was an option.

I have a 22 Prem with the glass roof. I love the additonal almost 2 inches of head room. There have been no issues with heat or cold or even bright sun!! Not to mention evey one that has sat in my back seats comment on how beautiful it looks from the inside.....

I get that passengers think it is cool, but I don't buy cars to impress others, but to satisfy our needs.

I like the concept but we live in Scottsdale AZ. So the last thing we need in the summer is more heat in the car. So we turned in down for our '24 GT.

I had a Tesla prior to this and HATED the Panoramic glass. It gets VERY HOT and radiates like a furnace after you've parked in the sun for an hour or more. I'm sorry to say that I forgot about that when I bought my 2024 Mach E GT and am learning it all over again. I would not get it if I had the chance to do again.

I'm 6'8 and the extra head room makes the car a great fit for me. Even with 100+ degree days in the midwest summer, it has not been an issue. No heat transfer, as most is reflected.

Might as well chime in. I've ordered a Mach E twice and left out the pano roof both times. As others have said, only rear passengers can enjoy it and most of the time I don't have rear passengers in the car. And probably zero amount of the time will I be a rear-seat passenger.

I've rented a couple or 3 Mach E's while traveling, each having the pano roof. The interior definitely heated up quicker in the sun. Strike two.

Finally, if I were ever involved in a roll-over crash in the car, the pano roof seems significantly less desirable than the metal roof. Don't know if we have any examples from forum members, but I'd rather be safe than sorry on this one. Strike three.

Been looking around at 24's and 25's, and as soon as I see a pano roof on the car, I click close and move on.
