Park Assist Remapping

Has anyone gone down the useless park assist button In a while? Wondering if anyone has done any forscan mods to remap that button do something remotely useful. I also noticed that in the new 2025s that parking button is still there - Does it do anything? Just seems interesting that’s there have been new iterations of the Mach-e since they removed the park assist feature but yet the button still remains.

Holy crap it really is still there. I've seen a few people physically remove the button and replace it with another, but so far no Forscan settings to make it useful.

Best guess it was cheaper to keep the parking/hazard button combo as-is instead of re-designing an entirely new module (and producing it)

Just seems interesting - its being dropped by more vehicles in the line up - maybe just using up the stock of the current button combo until they have to make another one - just a really dumb idea

My understanding is that for cars without park assist that the button now opens the navigation system and helps locate parking.

Yes can confirm that’s what it currently does - but is that such an important feature to keep on cars in 2025 that dont have it? Would be more benefitial to pull up charging stations in the area or the charge assist tab - personally i would much rather quickly pull up charger locations quickly rather than parking spots - would be a really easy software change - but we all know how much ford struggles with software updates

I have it. Never really used it. Takes forever to use anyway.

Ford should have just put a bank button cover over it rather than keeping the button and making the function a pointless parking search button.

I believe I used 22 ga wire. I use red posi-taps which are for 20-22 ga wire to tap into the brown BCM wire. The wire that goes from the BCM to the park switch is about 3' long.

That’s what it does in my 2024 MME. I didn’t realize that this was previously a park assist function. I thought it was dumb that they dedicated a full physical button to opening parking lot options in the Ford Nav.
