It's more of a frubby.

Can I jam a bag o' smelly trash in there? In might squish out. There were little bags of dog poop in mine, so the squishing out would be a bad thing.

I want a GV60 but I’d pick the Advanced trim or wait 6-12 months for Genesis to resolve issues with the Performance trim. There are vastly more failures (9 Performance EVs failed at one dealership, 6 at another) than failures for the MME HVBJB.

https://genesisowners.com/genesis-forum/threads/check-engine-light-now-car-wont-move-at-all.41322/
Yes I'm well aware. Been hanging out there which is largely a ghost town compared to here. Also been hanging out on the Ioniq forum. AC failure is another big one. In fact, the Performance GV60 I test drove, the salesman warned me no AC in that car when I test drove it on a 95F degree day. My GV60 was built on 6/22/22, so hopefully I won't run into those issues. I requested the dealer not to touch the car when I took delivery, leaving all the factory plastics in and out lol. The interior plastics all had labels with dates on them, ranging from 6/18/22 to 6/22/22. Should my car be stuck with that issue, there'll be 0 community support so I'll curl up in the corner and sob ? or maybe I'll do that here  but at least I have a proper front and rear tow hook should they need to drag it out of my garage :p

The MME definitely has a stiffer ride. The GV60 even with the suspension on sport is softer. I don't usually take corners aggressively as I'm too cheap to spend money on tires prematurely, but the e-LSD in the GV60 Performance feels artificial. While I gingerly drive up the steep curvy 25MPH road home, on two particular turns, I feel the rear end rotate. Should be fun if I took it at 45MPH, but very unnatural feeling when driving gingerly. The "performance" is strictly in acceleration, not very sporty handling at all. Motortrend just posted their GV60 review. Fastest time I've read yet with 0-60 in 3.6 and 1/4 mile 12.1 @113.2MPH.

I have about 500 miles on the car and the average MPK so far is 3.5, whereas my typical MPK on the MME was 3.7. I'm hoping it'll improve a bit as the tires break in. While on the highway I have been going faster than usual, 75-80, been in a hurry lately lol. I've always thought the MME is very quiet as far as road noise, the GV60 is even quieter. The one thing that ruins it is the surprising amount of wind noise, coming from the top edge of the windshield area. I suspect is from that extra and unnecessary piece of trim they decided to put on it.

Seems quite a bit of goodies coming to the MME, like lane change with Blue Cruise, and a member here discovered that using an F150 Lightning key fob you can open the frunk on the MME. Just when it's getting good I parted with it. My loss I guess lol.

About the frunk, yes it's a bit of a joke in the GV60. I've only actually used the frunk in the MME once, to store a watermelon within the divider that kept it from rolling so it was handy.

Edit: I wanted to add that when I first got this idea, I searched for a MME GT or Premium AWD ER first. There are cars out there but zero chance of MSRP. Yes I wanna win on both ends, sell mine and over MSRP and buy theirs at MSRP :p

Good luck on the car, I like the looks and will try to head over to Ct dealer that has a few Performance versions. I do want to test drive it and compare to the MME.
the dealer is over an hour away.

My premium extended battery gets around 300 miles on a full charge during the summer, I wonder what the real range will be for the GV60

anyway, enjoy it.

Agree on the necessity of a frunk. I've proven it to be a now valuable asset for hauling items that are undesirable to store inside the cabin. I've used the frunk to haul freshly steamed seafood, propane tanks, some garbage bags, etc.

We had a Rivian R1T over Labor Day weekend and the combination of the Frunk and Gear Tunnel was a huge asset to have, even for all the hiking and camping gear we dragged along our journeys. I had a 12V cooler and a 120V heated rinse station in the gear tunnel.

This week, I sold my 2021 MME GT base version with no packages and 4800 miles. Excellent condition. Here are the offers I received:

Local dealers:
- Ford dealer: $50k ???? . Seriously. Btw these guys mark up MMEs like crazy and sell used GTs for $70k
- Volvo Dealer (where I bought an S60 Recharge): $61.5k
- Carmax: $62k

Online dealers:
- Carvana: $55.2k
- Shift: could not give instant offer because the GTs are not in their system
- CarGurus: $62.7
- Givemethevin: originally $62.xk, then $63k, finally $64k after some negotiation
- KBB (through local car broker): Originally $63.7k, then $64k after some negotiation
- Car Buyer USA: $64k
- Driveway: $66.3K

It seems that you can negotiate with some of these online companies but not all.

When I went for a test drive at my local Genesis dealer, one of the four GV60s on the lot was completely dead. They could not even unlock it. Some of these issues are due to drained 12v batteries but there might be more issues.

That Genesis in that Sao Paulo Lime color is one of the best-looking cars in the world.
It's a little rare color though.

Maybe I missed it but are you accounting for sales tax on your initial purchase as well as any local yearly taxes based on the value of the car (highest in the first year if it is based on the depreciating value each year)? You will have to repeat that for the new car, right?

I am going to stick with my minor annoyances with an otherwise awesome car. Especially after replacing front and rear sway bars. It finally handles like a real performance car should.

One person said it's the BMS and another said their rear inverter failed. 12V issues are known for the E-GMP cars and I'm sure folks checked that out first.

With Mach-Es... the HVBJB failure causes 12V batteries to drain (eventually) so I would not blame 12V immediately.

@chrisGT I'm guessing you sold to Driveway? No option base GT was around $62K right? Had your Genesis dealer even bothered to unpack all the stuff the car came with, they would have discovered two physical keys to unlock a car with a dead 12V ?

@moparguy the car I test drove was the Sao Paulo Lime. My guess is it's their slowest moving color so they made that car available for test drives. I'm not brave enough for that color. Cyber orange MME GT though, that's awesome.

@MetrowestZ In NJ sales tax is exempt on EVs, so I can just take the highest offer and the dealer has no advantage to lowball the trade by the amount of the sales tax saving. I asked the Genesis sales guy if they were interested in taking my MME for trade, he straight up told me to sell it myself as there's no sales tax advantage to trade. I emailed the Ford dealership I bought the MME from if they were interested. No reply.

@mkhuffman if I had a GT I wouldn't have caught the trade in bug. I tried late last year or early this year when my Ford dealer had a base GT. They wanted $7500 ADM at the time. I offered them $2000 and they countered $5000.

I sold to a local car broker who gave me a good offer and they even inspected and picked up it from my house. I will not say how much but you get the idea based on the offers I received. I did not choose Driveway because I heard of a few bad experiences, like low-balling you after they do the final inspection. They also wanted me to send them the title before they paid for the car which I did not want to do.

No options GT was about $60k when I bought it. This was a very early GT.

Two sales people were trying to see if the mechanical key was in the keyfob but they could not find it. The GV60 seems to have a special keyfob with extra buttons to park/unpark the car and the mechanical key is not embedded in it like the other Genesis. Maybe it was locked inside the car with the manual and charger.

No price restriction on the sales tax exemption. Maybe you're thinking about the NJ EV rebate program which does have a price cap of $55K.
