Well .. sounds like the phone is the one variable that is in your control that you haven't tried yet ?‍♂. Either that or make a new Ford pass account with a new email.
The phone isn’t really a variable under my control since I only have the one phone. As deep in the hole as I am from paying for chemo, I am not buying anything for years to come. I guess I will try to create another FP account and see if the problem persists. I’m guessing it won’t. This appears to be a server-side issue with select accounts. But first, I have to go home to get a physical key since PaaK is functioning just fine to drive the car. ??

I'm sure you have a friend or family member willing to let you borrow their phone for an hour to try it out!

I agree it sounds like it's server side, so possibly a different phone model could trigger something that way. Worth a shot, anyway ?‍♂

I think the OP has my “Setup phone as a key” link since I’ve never been offered it. ?‍♂

Problem solved. Issue is my email address has a hyphen.

I didn’t actually reset. The service manager added the car to her account and I authorized her. It worked fine for her.

I went this afternoon and we tried everything including System reset and she never had a problem while I never showed the command buttons. I was trying my phone and my wife’s with different ford connect accounts.

On my way home I was thinking of the differences between the service manager’s setup and mine. The only difference is my email address has a hyphen in it. Tried a different email and it worked.

Well sounds like you found a bug for them. Glad it was a simple fix after all!

Just picked up mine from the shop today. My PAAK is not working reset in car. Bluetooth is connected. But app says not connected. Maybe I should delete the app and redownload?

Best bet is to do a PAAK reset, delete the XXXXX Mach E bluetooth device, and force close/reopen FordPass. You may want to delete your Sync bluetooth profile also as PAAK setup doesn't work for me if CarPlay is active.

I did that. Reset PAAK. Deleted and reinstalled the app. Setup PAAK again. Got messages to the effect that I setup PAAK. Which even works, mostly.
I went through this Saturday with my wife’s phone.
1) Delete FordPass on all phones.
2) Reset PaaK’s and Backup codes from the MME console.
3) Install FordPass on the phones.
4) Setup PaaK and backup codes separately from your phones. I used the same codes as previous.

Hah. I was insanely frustrated when the FP agent insisted that I delete my PaaK even though I told him multiple times that I did not have my physical key and that it was many miles away. “That’s not a problem. Delete it.” So I did. Then he told me to start the car. I asked how since I no longer have a PaaK and my physical key is at home. “Uh, sorry.” *Click*. I wanted to go full schutzhund on him. ??
It’s called use the backup key code to start the car.

There is no backup start code after the PaaK is deleted. It is associated with the PaaK. ??

I think you’re wrong....backup start code is setup in the vehicle, and used in the vehicle. I’ve found that deleting Paak doesn’t delete the backup key code.

But setting up a PaaK will push you into the setup backup key code mode on the console.

Wrong…..backup start code is setup in the vehicle, and used in the vehicle. PaaK has nothing to do with it and PaaK is not needed for it.
Besides, you need the key to setup PaaK’s.
Wrong....they are tied together. If you delete PaaK you delete your backup start code

I’ll take your word as I’m not going to test it.

In my case, I had to do a complete removal and reinstall because my wife’s PaaK went bad and the app wouldn’t let me delete it (there was no trash can next to her PaaK name).

Ok I need help
Just got my car back. Been in the shop for a month. Now the blue tooth and PAAK was not working. I followed the set up instructions. Did not work. Not picking up my phone. However the gps and music worked. I deleted the Ford Pass app and reinstalled it. Now I cannot get it to connect to the car it won’t setup PAAK. I. can’t reset the car without the administrator key or something. Well I have the key. It is not connecting to Bluetooth. Not doing anything. The sync is not finding my phone or vice versa. I got a message on the app that it’s connected but it’s not.
so how do I reset the car? I am unable to even delete my phone it just spins around

what am I doing wrong here?
