Hello fellow MachE-dian's

I wonder If this is something completely normal or if I should be concerned ?

I have only one Profile saved and all set up in my MachE - 9/10 times It automaticially recognizes and loads my driver profile

But once in a while and especially if I remote start it prior getting into the car due the hot hot summer, and I hit the start button it keeps it in the default profile / no profile.

Last night after a hike in a state park it didnt even let me to change the profile so I did a hard reset on the SYNC Screen via Volume down (hold) and next Track button on the steering wheel.

I probably should add that I only use my phone as the key from day one of ownership - you would think the MachE would recognize the phone and profile right away. I'm still at Software 3.5.3 ... maybe there's been a bug fix for this?

I have a similar problem with it wanting to use my wife's profile most of the time. The way our garage is setup she usually gets in the car first so I can sort of understand that. However there are times when I'm driving solo, my phone is in my pocket along with my key fob and it still picks her with her key and phone back in the house. I've even had it use her profile when I'm miles away by myself. Every once in a blue moon it will pop up the guest profile.

I've just gotten in the habit of selecting my profile every time I get in the car.

Thanks both!

See I never trusted the double dipping of Key and Phone ? I have both Keys in the house like 100 feet from my Garage ... Wife can use the fob whenever she needs to drive or move it.

And good to know it's a bug. Maybe they will fix it some point in the future

The permanent hack 'fix' is to create a 2nd 'dummy' profile. I don't know why, but I've had no issue with this since I put in the 2nd profile. Not sure if it fixes the remote start bug since I don't use remote start.

These profile bugs have been around for a long time. If you only have one profile, you can just turn off profiles entirely. Then you won't have to worry about it using the wrong one.

+1 on the profile issue. It's long standing ever since I had my Mach-E Job 1.

I remote start using the Apple Watch complication. Sometimes it's my correct and only profile in the car, sometimes it's the guest profile. ??‍♂

Your title seems to imply that there is only one "Profile" bug. The whole profile implementation is a hot mess. It almost never works for me. I have given up trying to guess what it will do.

I use my Phone as a key and I have my phone associated with my profile.
My wife uses a Fob and has her phone associated with her profile.

The car uses some AI-random algorithm to pick a profile and a phone.

I say AI-random because if it were truly random it would get the correct profile half the time, and the correct profile with the correct phone 1/4 of the time. It is nowhere near correct that often...

This bug drives me nuts @Ford Motor Company . I have two profiles in the Sync system. Just now, away from home, with my PAAK and personal key fob tied to my profile, I get in the car and start it and Sync loads my wife's profile. She is nearly a foot shorter than me. The driver seat adjusts to her setting which is way too forward for me. I have to quickly hit my seat program number on the door and then switch profiles. Nevermind the fact that I had just shut off the car with my profile selected. Nope, the system simply defaults to hers no matter the fact that I unlocked the car using my PAAK and my keyfob. EVEN WHEN SHE'S NOT WITH ME! ARGH!

The profile bugs are extremely frustrating and not necessarily tied to multiple profiles or PAAK. I only use my key fob, never PAAK. My profile is the only one created and my fob is the only key associated with that profile. I also have enabled easy exit so the seat moves back when the car is turned off. That part works fine.

But when I start the car, it should remember my profile seat position and move to that position. But it only does that about half the time. The other half it either moves just a little or not at all. So on those occasions I have to push the #1 button associated with my profile and then the seat moves correctly. At least I've got a button to fix it. How frustrating. It seems that something as basic as this could be taken care of, but no.

I'd love to tell my friends that Ford is working on this and some of the other issues but they don't seem to be. Ther's no communication that I'm aware of.

I'd love to tell my friends that I've got a great car and ford is helping to make it better, but that is not what it feels like. What do you think I should be telling my friends Ford?

Let's see what they can do for us... I'm not a Software Engineer but It shouldnt be to hard to be fixed with an Update either to the App on our Phones or the SYNC

Yeah, I have the same issue - more than half of the time, it knows it is me. The rest of the time it picks my wife (whose key is sitting in the house somewhere) or my brother who doesn't have a key. Another thing to check after starting up.

My wife uses a Fob and has her phone associated with her profile.
I’d fully expect that to never work. The profile needs to be associated with the device you use to drive the car.
