Anyone encountering issues with the pony puddle light projection? The lights on both driver and passenger sides are seeing stars. My pony looks like Pegasus and stars in the projection. I have tried to wipe the light under the mirror and it has not helped. The distortion of the image seems to be worsening as well. The specks have gotten bigger. Is this time to bring it in for warranty?

Rock chips and the light refracting from it. I kinda like it. If you get it fixed you save the lense and project it through some other source. See if you get the same result.

Has anyone manage to get this fixed through warranty? Mine has gotten much worse, you can barely see the Pony now. :-(

Just want to go to the dealer armed with the knowledge that other customers got this fixed.

Thanks

This shouldn't be any hassle at all getting warranty replaced.

Agree. There's a bit of history with these "lamps". I had one of them replaced after a year or so in my 2016 GT. Both have been ok since then so...manufacturing QC?

My dealer has ordered new puddle lights under warranty to fix this “problem”.

My dealer did order the puddle lamps to replace under warranty for me. The lights however were backordered and I had to wait about a month for them to replace it. Apparently its a common issue that they have with the mustangs and the same part is used for the Mach E.

Interesting about compatibility of Mustang & MME puddle lights.

Been searching for those animated Pony puddle lights, anybody got a link to buy some?

At 2yrs and 61,000 miles, mine’s out of warranty so I underwrite any issues non OE parts might cause so I want to fit these!

It must not be the exact same part because ICE Mustangs don't have the pony with the lines through it.

I found this thread because I just started having the same issue. I took my car in for unrelated service and got it back with both sides projecting just like OP. Guess it's going back into the shop.

There is a discussion on this forum about installing the animated pony lights (they are on Chinese vehicles). It is a pretty complex process to chage which involves updated car software.

Dead simple, half an hour first side, 15 mins second side and there’s a video to follow which is advisable so you know where the clips are so you don’t break anything, even found they worked without Forscan programming the single line in the PDM & DDM modules.

Tadaaaaaaaa………
