Ohhhhhhh. Hmm.... It shouldn't be related though since I've only authorized payments for plug and charge.

I'll take a look at that just in case.

I just tried turning Connected Navigation off in the vehicle. Turned off vehicle, locked door and closed it. Waited a minute or so before getting back in and turning it back on. Same as before but I figured that was worth one more try.

Also I forgot we can see satellite status in the regular nav app. It's very pretty! This is while inside the garage with the garage door closed:

I know you did a master reset, but did you toggle off all the Connected Services and then back on 15 mins later?

I didn't wait that long so I did it again just now. Waited about 40 minutes. Still same as before.

While I was waiting I also deleted both credit cards (the backup one was expired) and put them back in.

I'll see if I can reach Ford (or them me) next week.

Did you ever get this resolved? My APIM was changed out and I'm going through the exact same issues with navigation missing connected services functions.

Yes, I got it resolved... On March 17, I brought the car to a different dealer (Chapman) than the one that had replaced the APIM (San Tan).

I'd started doubting San Tan would fix it. I was patiently waiting for Ford itself (EAP, connected services team, etc) to fix it since the whole debacle was their fault. They went silent on me, sadly. I finally stopped waiting, because I started seeing electrical system drain warnings on the instrument cluster.

Android Auto hasn't been able to get GPS from the car since I did the master reset... It's relying on dead reckoning and the phone's antenna whose SNR is too weak while the phone is in the center cubby. But if I put it in the dash it will eventually get lock. AA is a weird experience when it doesn't have a good location.

I'm seeing that the car seems to have trouble getting good gps too... But mostly it's great so it's confusing me. And it shows 28 birds locked in on the diagnostics screen, so I dunno what's up there. Seems like more software gremlins. :(

So I tried another master reset tonight. This time I exited and locked the vehicle and waited a few minutes before returning to it to reactivate via FordPass. Also when it asked if I wanted to restore my EV driving data, I said no instead of yes. (even when I said yes, it didn't actually restore any of that so the restore function doesn't even work).

I figured this might give me a cleaner slate. But it was basically the same. Nothing that requires Connected Navigation is working. I'm learning it's more things than I originally realized, so I'll update the post headline. Without CN working, Ford's navigation route selections are truly dumb. And you can't see charger availability or use dynamic parking, etc.

Also I'm learning that many settings don't actually reset to factory state during a Master Reset. Of particular surprise is the door codes... So if anyone ever needs to sell the car, remember to clear as much out as you can in the UI prior to doing a "master reset."
You know the master door code is hard-coded into the BCM in the passenger footwell right? That won't ever change. And I don't think that codes you setup personally get erased or reset either. The Master Reset seems to be specifically APIM/PAAK/Connected services related exclusively.

So basically what the first dealer tech should have done was just update everything, and you would have been fine after that?

Yes, I understand that the factory code remains indefinitely. The code I had set up for myself was erased, as were many of my preferred settings like driver assist feature toggles, etc.

Not sure. A few months had gone by since that visit. Various modules got new updates in FDRS and PTS. So I can't know for sure.

I will say though that Ford (corporate) assured me that everything was set up properly and that connected nav should be working so they were stumped, yet they have access to the vehicle's diagnostics. They can see what modules have further updates, but they didn't suspect that as a problem.

Dang, that's pretty infuriating. I'm really tired of the dealer incompetence, give us dedicated EV shops already.

Darn, so it seems the fix was probably just incidental by dealership doing the SYNC update. I was hoping it would be something more concrete like programming the right region into the APIM or something.

I checked FDRS after my APIM swap and I had no outstanding updates, so I don't think the dealer screwed up there. My modem is provisioned and just like for you everything else works connectivity wise. I can even sync my trip plans from Ford pass .... I even got the notification in the app that I can use connected navigation again after the master reset....but the car disagrees
