I almost exclusively charge at home, so I've never really paid attention to the speed. But I'm charging at an EA Hyper fast 350kw charger but only getting a max of 45kw. I used Ford's onboard navigation and came in at 29% and it's in the 90s here. But I'm usually consistently in this range. Is there something wrong with my car or can I do something to improve this?

There's a Hyundai beside me getting 95 kw and an Audi getting 60 kw, is this Ford just being conservative? Or is something not correct with my car?

Thanks

Try moving to another charger. Do you have plug and charge set up in your App? It’s either a bad charger or not clean communication with your car. In my experience with EA. It’s not uncommon to have to swap to another charger

Which location are you at? The Columbia SC location is derated. The notes in PlugShare are full of slow charging comments.

You should look up every location in PlugShare before heading there. This is almost guaranteed to be a derated or broken charger.

Was using the Columbia sc charger, it's the one I almost exclusively use because it's halfway between my house and the beach. I'll try to pay more attention the next time I charge at another EA location.

I have plug and charge set up. Does that negatively impact the charging speed?

What does derated mean exactly? Sorry I'm too lazy to look it up. I really have no choice but to use this location because it's the only fast charger in the Ford network that is in range of my home and final destination.

What's your normal charging speed at a 350 kw or 150 kw EA charger?

On a 350 station the car starts off somewhere around 160 (about 140 on a 150 station) then tapers down pretty quickly to ~100. At about 80% SoC it drops to the low 40s, then into the 20s over 90% SoC. ??

You might want to actually look up the chargers on PlugShare before wasting your time there, and then here... https://www.plugshare.com/location/172102

No, Plug and Charge has no impact on speed.

Okay that's exactly what I got at another station
