Power liftgate doesn't work when wet?

Curious if anyone else has noticed this, or if it's just me.

I've noticed this just after washing the car. When I try to open the lift gate while still wet, it usually won't open. It'll unlatch, but it won't lift. If I push the button a second time then it will go up.

I thought it was a fluke but it's happened almost every time I wash the car.

I can tell you mine fully opens when wet. Whenever I wash the black piece with the backup light under the bumper, I accidentally trigger the kick motion sensor and it pops open. Kind of annoying, but it does open!

Noticed this the other day. Unlatched but did not open while washing the car. I attributed it to the 2nd pass cancelling the open.

From the manual:

Stopping Liftgate Movement -

Moving your foot under and away from
the center rear bumper in a single-kick
motion.

Same thing has happened to me several times - never associated it with washing, but that's when it's happened! It just unlatches.

I'll have to pay more attention to mine next time I wash it and double check how far it opens. Pretty sure it opens fully due to the fact that it almost smacks me in the face each time I'm down there washing the bumper!
