Well, it *might* happen for most ‘21 Job 1 cars, but that prohibit code will prevent @Jimrpa from ever getting it active.

You know, you just might be on to something there. I’m wondering if the Ford Motor Company might actually have the software update all done and ready to push but couldn’t figure out which of the 10,000 or so job 1 VINs belongs to @Jimrpa so they just blanket blocked them all. Now we know.

This feature has always been in the Sync software, it just previously was hidden and required for you to sign a release and allow Ford to install a token to the car via a diagnostic mode.

I only know this because I went through this on my previous MME that was having a camera issue. I left many a voice memo, don't know if they did anything with them though and ended up trading the car in.

I’m not sure this feature acts the same way. You can’t long press the top ribbon to activate, for starters, and who knows what data is sent to Ford.

Ford has figured out how to satisfy us with frequent OTA updates without actually updating anything. Diabolical.

Im on 4.2.2 and I did get the Drive Mode not available error again yesterday. So up to 4.2.2 did not fix this issue. Was anyone able to confirm if 4.2.4 possibly fixed this bug?

Can't confirm that it fixes the bug but I had it happen before the updates. Haven't had it happen since the updates. Fingers crossed I continue to not see it.

Does anyone think Ford will survive w/ their current MO? (even w/ their "clout")
