He already could, since he has a 2022. Only the 2021 Job 1's are missing that functionality, and only if your dealer hasn't installed it for you earlier this year.

This update should hopefully bring the frunk open button to the touch screen, but none of us Job 1'ers have received it yet so too early to confirm.

Yay!!! I can now open the frunk using the doorpad. I don't see a button on the app nor on the car screen, but love that it works with the door code.

I have a very early job 1 and got the Funck button back in July. Was stuck at 6.1 since 9 Sept. Now I've gotten 5 updates in the last 10 days. 3 since Friday. Last was the charger update tonight.

Is your car a really early 2021, or is it a Job2 car? Only the Job1 cars do not have the proper software to pop the frunk lid. Ford has been slow rolling out an update so many people have manually updated their BCM and GFM software in order to make the actuator work. From there, it's been either a FORscan session to enable the center screen button or a newer routine in FDRS to activate the same button, then waiting for Ford to update its back-end servers so that the button appears in FordPass for the specific VIN. Now it looks like they packaged all of that into an OTA. Three years aftewr the Job1 cars started rolling off the assembly line. ??

Mine is week 1 Oct 20. Got the Frunk in July 23 OTA.

Huh??? I'm so confused...if I have OTA updates set on automatic for any day of the week at 2 AM, why would I expected to be driving the car? Some of the updates have even warned that you should not plan on driving the car for 30 minutes (or whatever) and make sure it is charged. I have usually received updates when other have said in this forum that they received them, until recently. I have a '21 Premium AWD ER that is driven every few days and parked in my garage where it can connect to my Wi-Fi, and I'm only up to 6.1.0 from 10/30/23....whaaaaaa. ?

I can't even get the update 23B50, which they sent a notice for in October saying I should get it ASAP, and which specifically says with Automatic Updates on, your vehicle will have to be parked with ignition off for 2 hours, and they recommend scheduling updates overnight.

P.S. I LOVE MY MME!!!

P.P.S. Back on thread topic...now that there is finally a way to "open" the frunk without having to bend down and pull the handle not once, but twice (oh, the horror), we already have complaints about a software update that's unable to magically transform a lock release mechanism into a power lift...? I'm betting on power frunk upgrade kits for MMEs in 3...2...1.

Not likely with todays NTSB rules. They consider it a hood. And if it could possibly open when driving, bad thing. Very bad thing. Had it happen to me twice over the years.

I received the 6.7.0 notification letting me know my car is set to install tomorrow morning. Not, hit the install now button. Done!

You need PaaK enabled on your phone, and then for the Ford web gods to verify everything is good on the vehicle.

Thanks. Paak has been on my phone since May 22. How do I ask the Ford Gods to verify and give me my frunk icon? Trying my best not to type bad words but must comment that Ford makes what seems very simple hard for non techy folks.

It will happen automatically, but may take several days. Ford's systems periodically analyze (aka "batch process") vehicle configuration information they've collected. Once that happens, relevant changes are reflected in FordPass.

EDIT: Wait -- don't you have a 2022? Your vehicle should've already had the option since delivery. You'll only see it when the FordPass app shows "Connected" for the Phone-as-a-Key status. (Maybe it says Bluetooth Connected, I can't remember.)
