Changing gears Dr->R, sudden "thunk". Warning light on the dash shows the wrench, and the message to get Service soon. (Did not say to stop immediately or get towed.) On the Ford app the message is "Powertrain Malfunction/ Reduced power", and "contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible". Drove 2 miles, parked, then drove home. The warning light is gone. The car feels fine.

2022 Premium eAWD, Extended. 35,132 miles. I did purchase PremiumCARE EV if that is required.

Do y'all still recommend scheduling a service with the dealer? (Generally they are good). Should I park it till serviced?

Sounds to me like a speed sensor or brake/regen related, since it happened when stopped and changing from Drive to Reverse. I carry a BT obd adapter for this reason, torq would have noted the exact error code. It sounds like the car cleared it once the issue stopped happening (criteria for clearing without service is different for different issues), so not sure until it returns there's a log anywhere we could find it, might require the dealer to look into it. If under warranty likely on Ford, if out of warranty might not be worth the hassle / cost unless it happens again.

Addition: OBD-II shows no codes! I have scheduled with the dealer. Do I need to limit driving or go to the dealer for an OBD-ii check, just for the record?

Mine did something similar once, maybe a year ago though I dont remember a thunk. Drove home at reduced speed. Next time I got in and drove it was fine, and hasn’t happened since. At the time others said probably just a glitc, hopefully true for you too.

Just happened yesterday to me. One pedal driving went away. Stopped at my destination, restarted after and it’s been gone.

32.5k, first real problem (besides windshields. Makes me a little nervous with warranty coming up.

@MnSparty38: I plugged in the OBDII. No code. So it was completely resolved. So I cancelled the dealer and drive it. I believe it’s ok. If you don’t have an OBD II, get on off the web for about $30. Every once in a while folks on this forum will throw out something that you can look up and monitor your car simply by turning on and plugging in. (I’m going to be posting a question about monitoring the state of charge SOC of the 12 volt battery.)
