Ford: I already DM'ed my VIN and dealer information.

Recently got the recall services done. Odometer: 11592 miles

Today while level 2 charging my 2021 Mach-E Cal Route 1 my charge was interrupted during the charge session with charge faults followed by numerous Powertrain/Malfunction Reduced Power alerts. The same red blinking lights on the charge plugin area also reported by numerous others and obviously cannot charge up anymore.

dealer appointment scheduled for next week.

Disappointed that my Mach-E was at the dealer service for 3 days taking care of the other recalls. Wish this would have been fixed at that time. Or quite possibly that service caused the problem.

Edit: guess the DTCs and Service Vehicle Soon alerts are required to get a fix.
Though reading all of the people experiencing this issue after getting the recall I can't help but to think that it may not be coincidence.


Edit 2023 Feb 20: I finally skim read some of the more recent developments on this symptom.

Looks like if I have one or more qualifying DTCs I'll get the TSB 23-2020

I can offer no assistance on this matter, but today I also experienced the charge fault followed by powertrain malfunction!! Hoping it clears later when I try again. We had just received the 4.1.2 update as well...

Update: vehicle charged fine later same day and code cleared... I choose to put my blinders on and move on with life!

That is where I am as well. Plus I am charging my car now with 50% left on it just in case it doesn't charge as much as expected.

Bought my car from a private dealer in March, this notice has popped up several times for me as well. And the last time time, ford kept my car for over a week and also told me it was a software glitch. It’s been fine for a week, charging at 100% to 234miles. Today it came on again; and upon full charge it’s at 209. I live in Florida so this might be a stupid question - but do I really need AWD?!

I received a powertain error mid-May after driving about 1/2 mile before the error message popped up. I returned home to turn it off and then back on, as we would do after receiving any electronic device error, when I noticed the attached charger error message in the Ford Pass message center. (Prior to driving, I had disconnected the car from my home level 2 Lectron charger which was installed in October and used numerous times). Consequently, I decided to reconnect the charger to rhe car for 10 min, I was at 89% charge, set for 90% charge. Since I had a major event to attend as a carpool driver, I was intent on continuing my journey, so I disconnected from the charger, turned on the car to discover the error message was gone. For the next month and a half, I drove my 60 mile daily commute and recently a 2000 plus mi road trip without any recurrence of the error message. Hence, it seems like a charging error, which someone else mentioned in their experience at a Chargepoint station.
I hope this helps to alleviate any present or future worries.

In the event this is helpful, I had taken the car in for the 10k service eight days before with an all is good diagnosis.

The Ford msnual and other EV resources suggest charging to 90% for normal usage as to protect the longevity of the battery, to prevent overloading the cells. It is also suggested to pre-condition the battery before driving especially in extreme weather.

I am far from an expert, just purchased my 2022 MME in October, but perhaps the aforementioned may have something to do with the error you received. I posted a message about receiving the same error message; it appears the message may have been caused by a faulty home charging session.
