Powertrain Malfunction Warning

Have a brand new Mach-e eAWD purchased two days ago with less than 1000km and did a doors software update as prompted in console last night while plugged in using mobile adapter. This morning get this error message. Does the car have to go in for service already? Thanks.

Wait and see if it clears after a full key cycle.

Sometimes the car throws erroneous errors after updates. It shouldn't, but it does. In fact Ford even warns about it. If the error doesn't go away after a full key cycle (i.e., turn the car off, walk away out of fob/PaaK range, wait about five minutes, then go back and start the car), then (and only then) will it likely need service... If the error goes away, chalk it up to Ford's still learning how to do OTAs (six years into the life of the Mach E), and enjoy the incredible drive.

Get it to the dealer. This usually pops up after a failed OTA update or a module glitch. Better to have them scan the codes than risk being stranded.

Thank you for the suggestions. The red wrench light is gone and no warning on the car now although the Ford app continues to display the error message. Made a service appointment with the dealer just to be safe.

May have to walk away for 15 minutes or more because of the door lock update keeping the HVB connected to charge LVB.

Everything cleared all good now. Quite the introduction to our new Mach-e that is not one week old. Happy not to have to take it back for service at only 1000km.
