OK, so I’m a newbie here … but I thought the whole point of OTA software updates was so you never (normally, at least) have to go to bother going to your dealership to stay current. Avoids wasting both of their time and money — a win-win for owners and dealers.

Are there really software updates that the OTA system will never provide, and therefore require dealer visits? And if so, how does one know when they are available to be installed by one’s dealer?
Unfortunately the OTA system is far from perfect and only updates a handful of modules. Most modules still require a visit to your dealer or someone with FDRS at home to update. It would be amazing if we could just connect our vehicles to WIFI and hit "Update Now" and get the latest and greatest. Perhaps one day...

4.2.5 installed early this morning for me. First update that I've ever had install on a weekend.

Still at 4.1.1 since Jan 18. When I was at the dealer a couple of weeks ago to pick up our Escape PHEV, the service rep checked and no attempts have been made to update further. Frustrating to say the least, but not life changing;)

@Reality Check

Of the 44 models in Mach E, 37 of them can be updated via OTA. (Source) All major updates for Mach E up to this point have been released via OTA.

There are a few small updates that have been via FDRS only, but every major driver assist/sync update has been via OTA.

Usually when an update first becomes available it'll show on FDRS, then within a few weeks it'll start going out via OTA.

Here’s a list of all the known updates.
https://tonesto7.github.io/ford-pwr-up-info/
Thank you, could someone explain Vehicle Inhibit=True? I only ask because while I’m on 4.2.4, I have never received any of the updates that are so tagged. I put the old Wiki list in a list note and check/date the ones that install. Also I have no Wi-Fi and do not allow auto updating. I just want to be home when the updates instalol. I’ve just assumed that subsequent updates include the prior ones.
Thanks again.

Vehicle Inhibit simply means that the vehicle cannot be driven during the the update process. For example the 4.2.5 update shows a 15 minute wait. Other updates that don’t require this often can download and install while you’re commuting.

That’s what I thought, it’s just strange to me that I’ve never received any of them on that list. Thanks.

On 4.2.4 for a while. 4.2.5 has been trying to install all week only to fail every time. 1 AM scheduled update time with 90% battery, sitting in the driveway. No different than some of the other updates. Any ideas?

The charge on the big battery doesn’t really matter. You need 80% or more charge on the 12v battery. That comes from driving 15min or so. Your update may require the lvb to be charged over 80%. Change your scheduled updates from 1am to 15 so minutes into your morning or evening commute.

It’s also an “ inhibit“ type update……. Bill P

Maybe possibility to choose "I'm on EU, so 1.1.1"?
??

Yeah .. it's a tragedy here in europe.
Had contact with the fordpass supporter in germany and he said that 3.x.x should come before easter.
But that didn't happend.
Last week he called me and said that he has to close all support tickets older than 2 months.
So I am getting no more information.
Last info is, MAYBE the update comes in june...

4.2.5 update done a few minutes ago. It took exactly 15 minutes. Really happy to join the no-fog mafia ?
