Even if by some miracle our older cars are made compatible with the new CarPlay, Apple will make design decisions that many will dislike.

I don't think there is anything in life today that is not rabidly liked by 49% of people, completely despised by 49% of people, and unknown by the remaining 2%.

There’s a massive amount of customization that’s supposed to come with the release of the next-gen CarPlay. If you watch the release video you can clearly see them changing the design to what fits for them.

Even in the release video they showed off quite a bit of customization to the digital display so I’d imagine that on release there might be even more customization.

I mean if you don’t like it, I’m sure there will be an option to just use normal CarPlay. Nobody can really complain about an additional feature they did not have before that they’re not forced to use.

Soon. I predict we're only an update or two away from BC 1.3 now. Unless they have to go back and fix stuff.

I don't get why we cannot even have some semblance of a speedometer guage and a decent map on the instrument panel. I guess the EV bar was low when Tesla's instrument panel (or lack of)was benchmarked.
