I thought about going down a size (I did with my Volvo XC-90) but it doesn't seem like the X-Ice comes in an 18" - the Michelin site seems to offer just one 18" option - the X-Ice North 4 in a 225/60R18 104T XL which seems to be a studded tire.

Maybe I'll look at some other options in 18"...

@River Rat is correct. You can see I listed the size I went with as well. You would have to go with 235/60/18 for the X Ice to get the XL rating. This is about -1.23% difference vs OEM diameter which is fine.

My dealers offering me this:

Falkin Winterpeak – 225/60R18
18” Aluminum Wheel
Tire Pressure System
$2,087.80 plus tax

With the 40K FordPass reward bonus I'm thinking about it although CR doesn't like the tires. Should I stick with being lazy and having the dealer put them on when the car shows up next month? Hmm.

What's everybody with GT's putting on? Smaller rims? Has anybody called the dealer to ask what the price of OEM GT rims is in Canada?
I got my GT 3 weeks ago, I gotta figure out what to put on before the white stuff flies. The pzeros seem to stick pretty good now...even in early morning when it's hovering around zero celsius. Not that I intend to use them in the snow, that would be silly.

Although the Mach E Premium comes with 19 inch wheels (which look terrific) I decided that for the winter I would go with 18 x 8 inch downsize rims called Replika R189 Gloss Black (5 x 108 bolt pattern, 1797 lbs. load index, 45 offset, 63.4 bore), and Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 225/60R18 snow tires. I generally ski about 50 times a season and have found the Blizzaks to be great (and they have been recommended by Consumer Reports for many years). I had considered getting another set of 19 inch rims but with the increase in potholes during the winter, the 18 inch wheels with higher profile tires provides a bit more protection against bottoming out.

Yes, Bridgestone Blizzak is great. But are they XL, can they have the weight of the Mach-e?

May be too late, but you can always ask the dealer to source a different tire. I bought the same package this week and they were shod with General Tire Altimax. Not my 1st choice, but got decent reviews. Seemed like too much of a hassle to try a swap out, but unless the wheels are already built up they should be able to put on whatever you want.

And the 18” wheels I got are the same wheel the Selects ship with…really nice

I'm not too fussed about it. The price is right for what's included. I called around and it's 20-30% less than anywhere else so I'll stick with it. Thanks for the suggestion!

I have an appointment at the end of November for Michelin X-ICE 225/60R18 with Ford alloy rim and TPMS $2194+hst and tire storage is 100 for the season - you also get the 40K ford pass reward (Value of $200) and you can also use the 40K Ford Pass Rewards from the Mach-E purchase to pay for the tires, hey is better than nothing. The General Altima Tire was also an option for $200 less.

Bought our 21 Mach-e extended range eAWD Premium last Saturday. I just outfitted "Jarvis" with winter boots from my local Ford Dealership. Goodyear UltraGrip Performance+ Tires (225/60R18) on Ford Rims. Nicest winter rims I've ever owned. Lol!! I've normally put Michelin X-Ice tires on my other vehicles. I'm in Northern Ontario so we'll see how they handle soon enough.

Anybody done any research on Snows and rims?
My GPTE has 20" rims, and I want to be able to drive to Florida in winter, I investigated all weather options. Installed Michelin CrossClimate 2s on the original rims. Fantastic tires, not loud, didn't cost me any appreciable range and they've been great in winter.

Had the dealership source and install them.
