Hi guys,

I've begun to shop around for some winters for my Premium AWD ER. I looked at both OKTire and pmctire. PMCtire seems to have much nicer looking wheels as they are known to be a replica tire website, but are probably 20-30% more expensive than OKTire. Since I have 19's i'm shopping for 18's to be safe.

Anyone buy their winters yet or can provide some insight, maybe any other sites I can check out? PMCtire is around $2550 for four tires & wheels with TPMS in each, and OKTire is around $1800 but the wheels look like garbage. If I got a nicer looking wheel they'd be pretty comparable in price to PMCtire.

Thanks in advance for the insight :)

Looking at these tires from Kal Tire and just using my stock wheels that came with the car since I'll be buying some new summer tires/wheels next summer. Anyone see any issue with this?

I was debating the same thing, but the issue is our (Premium) OEM wheels are 19x7" and the tires are 225 in width. Most good looking aftermarket wheels that support the weight of our MME are 8 or 8.5" in width.

Although you can stretch 225, since it is the "minimum width" for an 8.5" wheel, it isn't ideal.

What size would you recommend? A few sites have recommended I go for an XL tire to support the weight of the vehicle, told them I wanted 225/55R19.

Personally I am ordering 235/60/18 X-Ice tires and got 18" alloys to use for winter. I do not want to run 19" tires for winters since the roads suck ? the extra sidewall always helps. Also 18" tires are usually cheaper than 19". These would make the diameter -1.23% different than OEM which is close enough to spec.

I've had Michelin X-Ice on just about all the SUVs I've owned and love them. I'll be ordering the X-Ice in 225/55R19/XL for my Premium (yes, w/ ugly steel wheels) from Costco.

I know this is posted in Canada but I'm Canadian so...

But like slimothyjames, I just bought 235/60/18 x-ice snows for this winter. I tried blizzaks last winter and with rwd they were just too squirrely for dry/wet conditions and didn't last long. I also had x-ice on my old Bolt and barely noticed any range reduction. Hoping the same with the x-ice snows since they're supposed to be even more LRR.

Hi folks, I've been leasing cars for years and have been getting my winters from the dealership. I'm going to purchase a Select AWD that's scheduled for production next week. I'm starting to look around and, along with the tires themselves, don't know much about what to look for. Any tips that you can give? I'm so unknowing about this stuff, do I need new rims with them, or can/should I use the same that are coming on the car? Size-wise, I'm assuming I should be sticking with the 18" but what else should I look out for? Help a noob out!

I live in Montana and Nokian Hakkapeliita‘s are in my opinion the best winter tires ever!!!! I can stop on ice quickly and make it through at least a foot of fresh snow. I have put them on my last 5 cars(yes, I have a car problem?). I put them on my MME last year and now my MME is the best snow car I have ever owned, this includes the Land Cruiser I traded it in for. They make an EV version, 10 EV is this years version. Just ordered them for my husbands MME. I get them studded, but you can get them non-studded.

I stuck with stock width for winter and got vredestein wintracPro on the stock wheels..

I also ran the stock all season tires on a new set of Enkie tsv wheels until they wore out, in just 20,000 miles, just replaced today with some new all season plus one on width for more stick in warm weather. Continental dws 06 plus
