Price drop question

Hi - I am very new to the forum and to the Mach E. I bought my car on Jan 24th from a dealer in MD. Two days later, Ford lowered the MSRP. From what I gather, Ford is honoring the price cut for everyone who had an order placed by Jan 1st. My question, though is what about customers who bought from a dealer in Jan? Will we get the same price cut/refund for the difference? I've reached out to my salesperson and he says if there is any rebate coming, it will be from Ford. From what 've read other places, though, the dealership is a separate entity and each will have to decide on the rebate individually. I know this probably only affects a handful of customers, but does anyone else find themselves in my situation?

Has nothing to do with the dealership. Ford will be reaching out to customers... but I am also curious for any updates.

I ordered mine in September and picked it up in January about a week before the price reductions were announced, I have already received my $5900 check for the price reduction. The finance person at my dealership gave me a call and let me know that he had the money from Ford for me and that he could mail it to me as a check, but given the amount he would prefer that I came in and picked it up in person.

The whole process was super smooth and I got the check last week, so yes, per the press release, people who purchased their vehicles in January before the price production are being reimbursed. And I have personally been reimbursed so it is definitely happening, just like the press release said it would.

That’s good to hear… I’ve not heard anything from anyone and my dealer doesn’t seem to know what I’m talking about… guess I need to get Ford on the horn to get them to officially tell me what process is supposed to be, when the dealer is supposed to contact me, and when I should reasonably expect it all to happen

EDIT: Update: just contacted my finance guy again and he talked to the GM of the dealer who said Ford would be reaching out directly and that they (the dealer) don’t want to get in the middle of it and be liable for passing money along. So I guess I’m still not really sure what I should expect

They most likely were slow on the paperwork and got re-invoiced by Ford for it, so they had to give you the money back as Ford never would have.

I purchased mine before the price drop was announced, so they invoiced me for the original MSRP of the car because that was the MSRP at the time. The price drop happened about half a week later.

I was also told by the finance manager that the $5900 had been sent to them by Ford. I can't tell you what went on behind the scenes, all that I can tell you is that Ford lowered the price and they said that they would be sending people checks for the reduced amount if they purchased in January. I purchased in January and I got a check.
