I think Rick is right and focusing on price level might lead to confusion. For example, I ordered during that 10/1/2021 wave (before the $2K price increase in ?December) and my order sheet signed by the dealer shows the price in effect then, and also has a price level listed as 215. I know there has been lots of angst about this and fighting with dealers, but for now I assume price protection covers me for that price on my order form. But my car is currently in production and the price level on the window sticker is 225, with the price shown reflecting the $2K increase (minus the $345 for the self parking prep kit). So one can have more than one price level, depending on where you look. I'm with Rick, that what matters is what's on the paperwork from the time of the order (and not what's on the window sticker).
The window stickers will always have the latest price code at the time they were generated. The price code on the order sheet/DORA will be the one you want to know about for helping ensure price protection, especially in the offchance your dealer starts playing games. If I expected price protection and saw the window sticker price code matched what was on my order sheet, I'd be concerned. In my case, they match because I ordered after the price increase but am receiving a vehicle built before the Park Assist change.

Something in Ford’s database decides if you are eligible for the price protection rebate. I don’t think it’s your order date, because orders can be changed after they are submitted, and I’m pretty sure that makes you ineligible for protection. The price code seems like the most logical data point for that, but it could be something else.

If you think this number irrelevant, no worries. I’m not trying to argue about how the system works. I was just trying to better understand a data point that I saw.

The intial order date is recorded by ford, you can add or remove options and still maintain the price protection. If you add any options they will be priced at the prices in effect when the change is made. If you change trim levels, such as Premium to GT, the order would reset to the date of the trim level change. At least that is the way I understand it from reading some of the other forums.
