Problems with WAZE?

Is anyone else having a problem with WAZE? Sometimes it will come on when selected in Apple but will not hook up to a trip. Other times it will work fine except I can't send messages re traffic, Popo, accident, etc. It works fine on my iPhone but not in Sync??

I have an android (pixel 5) and don't have any such issues. Sometimes the search bar doesn't come up and you have to do audio search, but everything else works fine through Android Auto

It worked fine for me at first. But now in CarPlay, it gets stuck at "Proceed the highlighted route'" and never starts a route. Using IPhone X.

I’ve had the same thing happen an annoying number of times but got fixed I think by shutting CarPlay turning the car off and starting over. It now seems to work but I just don’t close it anymore. Google maps doesn’t work well either. Apple Maps and the native Ford nav works.

Ive noticed this twice using Apple Car Play and waze (Iphone 12pro Max). Waze for some reason gets stuck and doesnt move thinking you are still where you started. I found by starting another nav app like google maps or the ford nav app, it makes the waze app figure out youve moved and you can redo your route.

My WAZE works for nav without issue EXCEPT I'm unable to report any traffic, etc. Touching the orange button in lower right corner does nothing now?????

While I only checked Apple Maps, I'm beginning to think that you'll only get a fully operational
Waze or Google Maps if you plug it in the USB port. Full functionality isn't wireless? I would note that the Ford nav is pretty (not) darn good, doing everything one would want except not in color and not any reporting functions, e.g., cops, traffic, accident, etc.

Yes. Waze crashes it. I’ll sometimes lose the entire CarPlay. Sometimes it comes back. Sometimes it freezes. It also went blank so only Apple Maps works.

so many possible responsible parties for this but best to start with a bug report to waze.

I had same problem with my new iPhone 12 Pro. Would just say proceed to highlighted route and go no further. My wife corrected it by changing the permissions in settings. Now the GPS works and it starts the route. I used the Sync navigation the other day when Waze wouldn't work and that worked well.

What “permissions“ did she change in Settings? I went to Maps, Google Maps and Waze, turned everything “on” and only The Sync nav works as intended. Do I need to plug the iPhone in?

She Googled “How do you change the GPS in Ways” and it came up with how to change settings and where. This alleviated the problem of it not starting but when I used it yesterday it still wouldn’t play the sound to give me directions by talking turn-by-turn.
