So I guess they are doing GT’s and Premiums week of 11/29. The more the merrier as long as they hold to this date. Slim chance to get it in before Dec 31 but hope springs eternal.
My original 2021 GTPE production date was 11/01 from VVR, but got an email last night from Ford it will be 11/15 week. So they are building GTs that week as well. My order date was 04/27/21 so they are really pushing out to the last possible production weeks. I’m still ok because it is Iconic Silver which goes away in 2022.

There’s still hope. Mine was built/shipped the last week in Sept and delivered to my dealer in Florida Oct 20.

Things seem to be getting faster in terms of production, shipping and delivery.
And here I am, production started 10/4. Only after calling Ford directly did I find out it was built and moved off site 10/12. Still no car. Still no update on the Ford tracker. Dealer tells me car will arrive 11/08 (lol good one). Ford site says both TBD in one spot and 11/28 in another. I'm hoping for a December delivery.

Recieved email today(10/25) from Ford that my production date (originally 11/22) was pushed a week to 11/29.

Space White Premium AWD ER

Same...first scheduled production date of 11/15 has moved to 11/22 as of yesterday. And looking through this thread seems all November scheduling has slid 1 week.

Bummer. All I can say is WTH Ford? Same build week as mine (after mine was postponed twice, silently). Moved off site 2 days before mine. Palsapp says mine is in KC and yours is in a black hole. I just don’t get it. If anything, since yours was moved before mine, it should have been put on a train before mine. <Cocks head quizzically> ?

At least you have one spot with an estimated delivery date and that date is one day ahead of mine. I hope that holds true.

Same exact story here. My GT was pushed to 11/29. First email from Ford. I think I got lucky on my order, since I ordered 8/31. I'm also in south MI. I wonder when we'll actually get delivery...looking like a couple months later for most.
I’m guessing January. I have a GTPE coming, thinking of swapping out the Summer Tires, Michigan Winter. What are you thinking?

Several points:
...
In addition, taking ownership of something that in fact isn't even in the US at the time is a dubious claim for a tax credit. They're looking for when you put it "in service". In service means you start driving it, at least home. https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f8936.pdf
I'm curious if you were able to find a publication that states or implies that in service means "when you start driving it, at least home." It's an interesting topic because the IRS and courts have gone back and forth on the definition of in service. It has been argued that in service means the asset is complete and ready to use, not necessarily that it is in use or has been used. Another argument holds that the in service date is the date that the asset begins depreciating.

The same question applies to the tax credit associated with the costs of the car charging system and the electrician who installed the wiring. Form 8411 states that the "refueling system" needs to be placed in service during the tax year in which the credit is being claimed. Does it mean that the system actually has to be used during the tax year? I don't think so. Based on one recognized definitions of in service, I think it only means its construction must have been completed and it was made fully functional during the tax year the tax credit is claimed.

I agree with your reasoning on the charger.

On the vehicle, while you could make an argument that it's "in service" when it's manufactured, it's not "in service" for you. You can't use it in Mexico, in the plant parking lot. In service for the vehicle, or any other asset, is when the owner (person / company) could be using it. Can you depreciate equipment you don't have possession of? Dunno, not a tax lawyer.

You cannot depreciate something you don’t own or have in your possess. You will not have placed it in service. you Can’t make a case that it’s in service in Mexico.

In the same club. Ordered 5/11/21
Premium RWD/ER Space White
Original prod date-11/22 changed to 11/29 and now 12/6.

Ford page still says 2021 Model, but don't have much faith in that.

Wondering what the switchover date is for a 2022 Model.

That's quick. I'm also in Florida (Broward County) and so I've been analyzing delivery times to Florida. Throwing out a couple of outliers the average is 42 days (6 weeks) from build. I hope yours is a trend.

If you’re tracking more detailed, it was built 9/22,shipped 9/24, delivered 10/20.
