So after having some issues I finally did a phone as a key reset which deleted both phones. I then reconnected each phone and set each one up as a Paak. Both are working as expected. I now have my phone and my wife's set up as Paak and each linked to our own personal profile but when one of us gets in the car the active profile is which ever profile was last selected. We have to manually switch it to the profile for the current driver. This doesn't seem right. Why link the phone to the profile if the system isn't going to switch when it recognizes the phone? Has anyone else had this issue?

I was just noticing this issue myself. Even if I get in and press my assigned profile number on the door, it does not change the CarPlay to my phone (which is assigned in my profile and in use as PaaK). This is something that our 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee system did flawlessly. It should be fairly common at this point.

Our 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee was the opposite...even when pushing the hardware preset buttons it wouldn't switch for us, the issue you are having with the MME.

With our MME remote starting puts it to the guest profile, it didn't recognize PAAK in switching depending on which phone started the car, but the hardware button on the door do work, altering which profile is active. So this was actually an improvement over our Jeep. Or we can go through the display too to change the profile.

We've never had a car where things worked smoothly to remembering seats/settings with fobs and phones, so sorta wasn't surprised the MME didn't either.

While it seems simple that phone integrations should work there are an awful lot of phones out there in various different OS configurations/updates and car manufacturers aren't the speediest at updating. So while it should be better since they advertise it, I guess again I'm not surprised.

It is interesting that your Jeep had issues, but our 2018 Jeep worked great (most of the time). Once I hit my profile button on the door (if it didn’t already switch based on the key fob), my seat/mirrors/steering wheel would adjust…and…the stereo would change to my preferences. Now, that was USB CarPlay, but it would make CarPlay the music over my wife’s preferred SiriusXM.

As for the various phone OS’s, that should not be relevant. It is a change in the Sync to “connect” whichever phone was not connected last…if both phones are in the car. If I get in alone, it will connect to the only phone available. But this should also be triggered by that profile button. You link your phone to the profile, but it is literally the only thing that doesn’t change when you press your button. That SHOULD be an easy software fix in the future.
