Profile keeps defaulting to Guest

update- adding a profile for my wife didn’t fix it. Still defaulted to guest and had to hit the memory seat button again.

Also the “guest” profile seems blank. When I click on guest rather than saying “edit” it says “add profile.”

Did it to me again today. Guest profile.

It’s most noticeable because the seat doesn’t move forward from the “easy exit” position. It’s kinda odd because when I get in, I hear the seat motors click like the car is thinking about moving the seat but decides not too.

Oh, and I got the door dinging sound because of the headlight switch issue at the same time. No clue if the two Issues are related or not. It’s definitely frequent enough to be annoying (every few days it does this).

I thought it might have something to do with being plugged in or not, but I didn’t charge last night.

And today it did something related but slightly different.

Go to work this morning, no issues.

Leave for lunch, it goes to my profile, but doesn’t recall my memory seat. Had to hit the memory seat button to go forward from the easy exit position.

Clicked to edit my profile and my memory seat number is still listed. So buggy!

I have been testing this week and this problem is resolved for me. I took my car to the dealer and they did all the software module updates. Since then, the profile has not defaulted to Guest a single time, when it did it almost every time previously. So this appears to be a software issue that has been fixed if you can get your dealer to update your car.

Update: you will see in subsequent posts, my profile issue has not been resolved. I thought it had, but I did not wait long enough before making that determination. Maybe it is a little less frequent, but really I think it is the same. So wishful thinking was not enough. Sorry.

Do you know what modules are available for a GT? Any details listed on your service receipt?

They did not give me a receipt. I asked for one but they were having computer problems and said they would email it to me. Still waiting...

This has been a bug that I've wanted them to fix forever. It is so frustrating. I'll forget to hit the memory button and then 1pd is off and I'm suddenly flying down my driveway or wherever I'm parked. I've gotten better at it but it is a really dumb bug.

100% agree. @Ford Motor Company can you escalate this to the engineers? There is no reason the car should revert to a Guest profile every time we remote start the car.

I had the default Guest problem in my Mach E.

I noticed my profile would default to Guest when my phone was not connected to the car via bluetooth. I listen to satellite radio mostly when I drive and struggled to understand why the car would default to guest.

I noticed I kept having to connect my iphone to the car after someone else used their phone to navigate.

So I ensured the settings default to my phone- both on my phone and with the car, my iphone wifi and bluetooth are on for wireless apple car play and bluetooth.

This was also what was preventing me from changing my profile photo - the phone has to be connected via bluetooth and not just the car's closed wifi network.

I haven't had the problem since when my phone is connected via bluetooth phone and wifi. If you haven't checked the car and phone settings for both bluetooth and wifi, it may help solve your issue as well....or it's something else but a good place to start.

Grabbed wife's phone, went out to the car, it rolled to her profile as it was supposed to. You should have the same exerperience. Hope you're able to resolve this, I'll keep watching your post- I'm conerned this is going to happen again and maybe I didn't really fix anything!

It would be way easier to diagnose the issue if there was any sort of consistency.

My profile was also changed to a guest some mornings.

I have the dark theme activated on my profile. I start the car and look at my profile for a minute and then it switches to just the guest profile.

I always have my physical key
