Hello Everyone!,

This has been by far one of the friendliest forums I have participated in, thanks in advance for your time! I had a new Ford Connected Charge Station (bought directly from Ford) installed just before Christmas. It was hardwired to my breaker, and I have an earlier post with some questions about breaker size/charge settings, but that is not what this post is about. I chalk this question up to my slight OCD, and is probably nothing, but I will feel better hearing what y'all have to say about it. The FCCS has a blue light on the front panel that seems to be on all the time. When my Mach-E is charging, the blue light slowly pulses indicating that it is charging (or so I glean from the manual). My question is, is the blue light supposed to on all the time? Does it ever go "sleep" or "standby," or is it always just on? Again, thinks in advance for your time :)

Yes, always on, makes my garage look like a Police Station.

Yep, always on. The blue is good. No light, amber, or red light is bad.

I've observed four states for the blue light. This is all in your FCCS owners manual too, of course:

  • Long bar: plugged in, not charging (car is not requesting to be charged)
  • Long bar, pulsing: plugged in and charging either LV or HV or both, or preconditioning
  • Short bar (1 LED): nothing plugged in
  • Short bar, blinking: the station is locked (access control) and must be unlocked before charging can occur

For what it's worth, my 240v/40amp not a Ford charger uses the same steady blue and pulsing blue light to show plugged in vs plugged in and charging. A quick peek through the garage door reveals if the car is done charging.
