No. It just stops people from asking where their range went.

It's the same as if I tell you to write the range you want on a Post-It note, and put it over the range display. You're happy, we're happy, nothing's happened though.
lol, it most certainly will NOT stop people from asking....lol

The range... or the range display?

Those are different things. Range is how far you can actually drive. The range display is just a rough estimate of how far it thinks you can go based on a number of variables and assumptions. Thus why it's sarcastically referred to as the Guess-O-Meter.
The Display, but with 3 years of driving, this year is noticeably decreased.

We also highly recommend the highest level of electricity for better efficiency and also to avoid those unnecessary knocks and pings?
What about additives? Do you recommend any in particular?
Have you tried one of those ceramic donuts that go around the charge cord? Supposed to even out the “Lumps” in the current.

Colder temps will do it. Both for the real range if it's significantly colder when you actually do the drive; but also in the range display since present temp is one of the things it uses in the calculation.

Bottom line is just take the range display with a half grain of salt. If you do a long drive in 20F, you'll get less range than doing the drive in 40F.

Well I see our annual “Something is wrong with my battery!” and its variant “I got the wrong battery!” threads are alive and well. And here I was told nothing is forever.

I have a slightly different angle on this issue and would appreciate your thoughts.

I'm less interested in maximizing range as much as I am minimizing electrical use at the meter.
Then only plug it in to charge, and never use remote start or departure times. Depending how cold it is, you will have limited range, heat, and acceleration.

Keeping the battery warm does not take that much extra energy. I use departure times almost every weekday and it raises my energy usage by only 10%. To me it's well worth having everything warmed up for optimal comfort and performance.

Thank you. Wow, to me, 10% seems a pretty big penalty for everyday commuting when I don't need maximum range. To each their own of course. Glad to have techniques for maximizing range on longer trips.

We do not refer to wind and temperature as "vagrants" anymore.

The current culturally sensitive term is "members of the unhoused community".
That is why I keep my Mach in a heated garage in the winter! Don’t want those unhoused members messing with my range!
