Looks like a 4.2.6 glitch, several people have posted very low range when charged up to 90-100%. I post said 90miles at 100% charge. GOM has a new way to guess range and its way off. I dont use the Ford Nav so havent seen it yet.

2021 SR AWD, bought at 2800 mi, now 6200 mi. I'm on my first real road trip in this car, no issues until my last DC fast charge on reaching my final destination 700 mi from home. I left home at 100% with 223 mi predicted range. Now I'm at 49% with 50 mi, and have been consistently at around 1 mi / % SoC. I left the last charge with 79%, 82 mi, pictured.

Is this a known issue where DC fast charging will throw off the range estimates or the SoC? Or is my battery pack actually damaged somehow? Do I really only have half the battery capacity that I should? Has anyone else encountered this?

I had a similar situation with my 2021 GT. After the latest over-the-air upgrade, I discovered my projected range was 93 miles when I charged to 90%. I reset the driving history and it went to 239 miles at 90%.

Any recommendations on a good OBD2 tool for monitoring battery capacity?
I use this one. I don't know if it's common for others as well, but my phone periodically loses BT connection to it and I need to reconnect it.
Not all support electric vehicles, I had to return one that I bought without checking for that.

Gave that a try, results pictured. Assuming the "GOM" is calculating that range estimate based on an actual detected battery voltage level, as opposed to some sort of default, I'm guessing the issue that started yesterday was indeed a range calculation issue, and not a hardware issue.

I have about 160 mi of driving planned tomorrow - hence the 100% SoC target for tonight - I'll post an update on whether the ~225mi total range I should be getting is what I actually get.

I think you're the second person today to report this. I wonder if it's a bug in the new GOM calibration? My Escape PHEV will sometimes do this, but it will fix itself after a couple key cycles.

Are you really only getting 1mi/kwh?
I seen something similar over the weekend after update, we charged to 95% 265 ish miles, drove had 43% after 160 mile drive, charged at father in laws place , to 85%220 ish thats a significant distance change. I drive 65/70 cruising , we are not speed demons often see 3.7 to 4.4 -the hvac update sux ac and heat now significantly eat power

@Ford Motor Company STOP....CHANGING....THE....GOM....ALGORITHM...

We get used to it, and then it changes, and then we rinse & repeat...
You bought the wrong EV.

Ford has clearly stated that they expect to constantly change things. Farley brags about it.

My car has 255/45/20 non low rolling resistance Summer only tires and aftermarket non aero rims. If I keep the speed down it gets 2.7 on the highway usually.
For the record I'm running the same setup and see this exact result. I'd even say 2.7 is a good day. I also have Rokblokz mud flaps on which I'm sure don't help aero.

I haven’t received 4.2.6 yet. The other day on a 120 mile trip, I used the nav, which I rarely do. Ever since, my GOM extrapolated for a full charge, dropped from roughly 300 miles to 200. It’s so laughable.

I’ve been preaching “Ignore the GOM“ for quite a while, I clearly don’t totally ignore it, but I never use it to figure out if I need to charge (or anything else important). It’s kind of entertaining just to see what it going to come up with next!

I had the 4.2.6 update finally installed on my GT last Sunday. It caused it to forget my 90% charge preference and topped it to 100%. Haven't driven enough to recharge, but I think this is another one of those lottery updates from Ford. We didn't win on this one.

And I have the AOSK mud flaps.

I do also own a set of CR1 wheels and LRR 225/60/18 they do 3.5-3.7 all day. But have stopped running those.

Next year I am going to pickup a set of 19" Rotiform wheels and aero covers with 255/50/19. When I go on a highway trip I can use the aero cover around town I won't.
