Hello all.
I bought the AWD extended Mach E late last year.
I love the car….
My question is:- why won’t my car recharge to anywhere near what the selling advert says (379m) ??
I drive my car on differing journeys both around town & on motorways, but can only get it to “329m”.
I’ve also tried both resetting the mileage whilst charging & letting it fill up with battery on home charge.
thanks in advance for any replies.

There are tons of discussions on this topic. Primarily the problem is that the UK and indeed a large portion of the globe mandate an unrealistic testing method called WLTP. WLTP assumes much slower speeds than people actually drive, and thus gives ridiculously optimistic ranges. You should look at the Ford USA site to see the range determined by the EPA tests which are more realistic. The second problem is that the range display - also called the guess-o-meter - is a projection based on modeling and is often very wrong.

Yup, and even if it says 329, you might actually get 350 or 375 depending on weather conditions, how fast you're driving, etc., or you might get 150, also depending on weather conditions, how fast you're driving, etc. The former could happen in late Spring/Summer temperatures driving 35 mph, and the latter could happen in bitter cold driving 80 mph.

Or anywhere in between.

You'll get used to it. Gas engine range estimators lie too, but nobody thinks or worries about it because there's a gas station on every corner and it takes five minutes to fill up.

Just basically remember: warm temperatures, more range and cold temperatures, less range.

Never thought of it this way but absolutely true. No such thing as range anxiety when most ICE cars go 350-500 miles on a single tank and a gas station is always 1-50 miles away almost anywhere you are.

Until you're in the Mojave desert with a V8 GT that only gets 250 miles/tank, but it's wide open with zero cars. ;)

Hi - I see you are in the UK. The UK uses the WLTP.... which is worthless. No EV comes anywhere close to that number... the miss is at least 30% best case. The WLTP is ~22% higher than the EPA... think about that.

https://insideevs.com/features/3432...WLTP figure to be,more about EV range testing.

The EPA can actually be achieved if its warm and you drive like a grandmother. But if you drive like a normal adult, and its less than 30 degrees C, you will not get even the EPA range... sorry.
